Texas BCAPL State Tournament - Harker Heights, Tx 12-15 Mar 2009

On A Limb

Can players that are "Master Level" players, but not on the BCA Master list play in the Open Singles?

Thanks,

Ray

I'll go out on that limb and say "No"

Since you just said "Master Level", why would you try to get someone into the open?

If you're talking about Snake, the answer is the same as last year

I think he' asking about players that are currently listed in the open division who are master-level players, but aren't on the BCA Master list.

For Example?

I can think of a few names that IMO could be master.

You have any suggestions

You're one of them :)

I went out in two in Vegas the last two years. Hardly a master player! lol

As for the open list, I don't even want to speculate. I am fine with the BCA using a master list.

Isn't that what the call "Flying under the radar" ;)

You kick butt locally and then go and dog it at the nationals to keep your low profile.

We'll see ya soon

Stix II is where I play out of and as Ray pointed out their tables are decent

Stix I (Got renamed to Rackem last week) got brand new tables that are setup incorrectly. When you hit the rails, it sounds like some loose hardware is rattling.

Not surprising though, the manager doesn't play pool and doesn't even like pool players. Buys the cheapest crap possible and then complains about pool players being ungrateful ;)

I love America, Feedom of choice and the right to not spend my money where it isn't appreciated

Steve, where is the rooms located. I'm here so where do I go to play.

What Do You Want

Steve, where is the rooms located. I'm here so where do I go to play.

There is one just down from the E-Center in the same mall called G&B's, then there is a place in town called Stix II, to hard to tell you here. Just ask around for the Stix on Rancier...people will tell you

Just down the road west from the E-center on Veterans Memorial at the corner of that and Indian Trail is Stix I. They will have their usual 9 Ball tourney on the 9 footers tonight

Check your PM

What criteria do you use to determine if someone is a Master? I do see some pretty strong players playing in the Singles? I am not blond (no offense), but I am new to this.

Well I do know that there were some names on the MASTER list and now they are no longer there- - -I'm guessing that the list was updated here recently????I dont know!!!!

Male or female?

Does anybody know what the dress code is?

The Dress code for singles is: Collared shirt, serviceable pants or jeans (No major rips), no sweats, jogging clothes, warm up suits, flip flops or sandals.

Teams are the same except all team members shirts must match and each team member must have his/her own shirt.

The exception to the above is you may wear a t-shirt, provided it is from this years tournament shirts.

There are several really strong players but.......if they are not on the BCAPL Master List then they can play.

From time to time I know the TD has called Vegas to inquire about a player. If the info coming back from that conversation warrants it, then players can be mastered based on "Known Ability"

I heard you've been carrying your own ATM around lately, you're getting off cheap this weekend :)

It would be nice to have someone other than Top Tournament Directors and players FROM Texas to call for my tournament. Can I get that Vegas number? LOL. j/k

See y'all tomorrow morning.

Updated Brackets

Does anyone know when the online brackets will be updated? When I go to sw8ball.org the listing only goes as far as the first round.
