mother nature does strange things
while taking last few passes , look what jumps out
i cant decide if it looks like jaws, a spaceship, if turn over it looks like a pistol
whatya think?
gives the cue character, makes it unique????
or it's a flaw, and you'd never accept it????

Brent, I think that one crossed the river of character and set up shop in the land of flaws....

yeah, it's a little big, half that size, might have been alright.

the worst part is, this is the 2ND forearm on this cue. i exploded the first one.
BUT.......that's another story

That's beyond character, and what is acceptable.

If I ordered a cue from you, and this is what I got, I can promise you 2 things:

1. You would get it back (probably on your own dime), and
2. I, and most people I would talk to, would never even think of ordering a cue from you again.

had a similar thing happen once before, not near as bad as this one though, and i was so pissed about it, so i showed the guy pics of what i considered to be a flaw, but he didnt , and wanted it just the way it was. but, in this case, i'm going to have do something, change forearm or inlay over it. cant describe how disheartening it is, when this shit happens. xray vision to see thru the piece before using it would be great

Flaw

Please don't kick the cat. Isn't mother nature wonderful. It would be interesting to see how deep it goes. Not sure I would even consider inlaying over it. It's interesting how the grain was already moving around/away from that area, maybe something to file away for future wood choices.

hard to say, cant see anything on the opposite side
and, fyi, i'd never kick my buster cat :)

Looks like a birthmark. If it doesn't affect playability and structural integrity...I see no issues with it. Just one of nature's surprises. Last time I checked...there wasn't one of us without a blemish somewhere...yet we still manage to perform admirably. Obviously I'm in the minority on this one.
