Hey everyone. Well we drove today from Ellsworth, Maine to Valley Forge. It was about a 12hr drive and it sucked, but I kept positive because I was looking forward to getting to the expo.
So we got our cases unloaded and checked into the hotel and wenrt to see who JA was playing tomorrow. Turns out that he plays Cory D at 3.30, and Kim DavenPort plays At 11.30 (JA's Biz partner and good friend) so we will go and watch that one and then I have some people to meet with before JA's Match. I also am looking forward to meeting some fellow AZErs there and I have met a few people already. I shook hands with Mike (Azhousepro) I knew him anyway but it was nice to see him although for just a second as I was busy talking as he walked by.
I spoke to Tony Crosby for a few mins (TonyC) and began whining about my 12hr drive and he pointed out that he had driven 17hrs with his trailer so I decided to not complain to him anymore.
We went and grabbed some dinner at the sports bar that is attached to the Raddisson and said hi to Thorsten and John Schmidt. Also Barry Berhman was walking around with his little dog as usual and the dog was wearing a T-Shirt that said 'Security" on it.
So already there are lots of people around and everywhere I look i see someone carrying a cue case. I have visited 3 hotels now and all of them are booked up it seems with players so it is really cool that there are so many people like myself who love the game around.
Tomorrow I plan on meeting JoeyA as I know where he will be. I can't wait for tomorrow when everything gets kicked off and cruise around the booths, checking everything out or as much as possible as I can't stay and must leave on Friday afternoon. I am sure that nthis thread does not make a whole lot of sense and that is is probably ramblng buy I am just excited and so far having a great time and just writing the words that are coming into my head.

Well The Legends and Champions Pool Tour for the East Coast is almost done, there is one more stop to make after SBE in Newburgh, Ny and it has been alot of fun. Everyone has been nice to us yet again and we have had a great time meeting everyone. Oh a great food tip if you are ever in Ellsworth, Maine (20 mins from Bangor) The seafood restaurant called Jaspers has the freshes and best cooked seafood I have ever had so give that place a try. Johhny Archer and Nick Varner will be heading to the West Coast at the end of April for that leg of the Legends and Champions Pool Tour so we look forward to that too.

Anyway guys and Gals just thought I would share a little and if you are here I hope to meet you tomorrow,
Mark

Thanks so much for the trip report. I know how difficult it is to provide updates when you're at a venue. You must be tired, all that driving.

I remember my experience in Maine and eating lobster. It was the absolute BEST I've ever had.

Looking forward to hearing more about your Valley Forge experiences. Keep the updates coming! Again, thanks. :)

I had a wonderful at the pool school with Johnny and Nick. It was such a great experience to meet two of pool's greatest. Looking forward to meeting all of you again at the expo. I'm arriving Thursday morning and staying until Sunday.
If anyone of you get a chance go to a pool school with these guys.

Johnny and Corey are playing in the first round? Wow. How did Allen come up with that? I am leaving for VF in a few minutes. Can't wait.

Ok, jam here is another update. I went to bed around 2.00am and I hoped to sleep in this morning and for some reason I am up at 7.45 with no hope of going back to sleep. This is going to make for a long day. With all the time changes since I live in Arizona my body clock has been messed up for almost 2 weeks. I have no idea what time I will be waking up when I get back home with a 3hr time difference. Ah well, nomatter what happens I am sure I will have some great memories at the end of the past week and this weekend.
I should be heading down to the Convention center in about an hour or so and when I get back i will give you some more info if anything happens.

Thanks so much. Hopefully, you won't have to wait in a LONG line to get your SBE pass. Sometimes on the first day, there is a line to get in. After that, though, people can come and go without many stop signs or hurdles to jump.

The Pro Arena, where Johnny will be playing, is on the top level, all the way in the back, just in case you haven't seen it yet. It is very nice.

Oh, I am curious what beer is being served this year. I know they change the vendors up sometimes.

Check out the bottom level, the Action Table Pit. They probably were rocking and rolling already last night with the action games. That's where I usually hang out when I used to go to SBE.

I'm sorry about your sleep deprivation. That used to happen to me all the time on the road, which I'm sure you're used to by now, all the traveling you do. I still wake up today at 4:00 a.m., like a rooster, no matter where I am. That's usually when I start my work day. :p

Have fun. Looking forward to the updates!

Well I got my pass last night, Johnny gave me his guest pass so I all dialed in there but thanks for the heads up and for anyone else who may be heading down there.
The beer is Miller light and whatever that company sells. I prefer bud light but hey beggers can't be choosers right? The price is better than I thought at $3.00. However you do have to buy tickets across the hall and then go and use the tickets at the bar.

I watched a little of the Pro Am last night at the Pro arena, Dr Cue was there, Ralph Souquet, Tony Crosby, Kim Davenport and some others I can't really remember who else was there. Looks like a nice set up though.

As far as action goes Nick Varner was supposed to bring my beer to my room last night that I had left in his van but I never heard from him. He called me at 8.00am today asking if I still wanted it. I asked if he was ok and he told me that he got a game last night and had not gone to bed yet. Man is that strong?? he had a 12 hour drive to get here and then plays all night so he had been up 24hrs when he called me. Now you may think to yourself "I do that all the time" you got to remember that Nick is 60yrs old now so that would be like the young ones staying up 48hrs IMO.

You just keep rambling. We will stop reading if we can't take it no more!

We were going to go, Frankie, but we changed our minds last week.

Hope you have a lot of fun, Frankie. Sounds like you're going to be in pool heaven this year. Lots of activities abound.

Pick your players wisely: "I'll take 50 on the breaker. Who wants the racker? Bet, bet, bet, bet, bet." :grin-square:

Thanks for the post about VF. I wish I could have gone there myself and it's nice to hear from someone like yourself who's willing to share some of your experiences.
