Why Does Everyone Hate Cuetec!

Why Does Everyone Hate Cuetec!

I think it is the idea that anything less than a wood shaft is a toy. For those that have never hit with a Cuetec they actually hit pretty good and for the money are a very good buy. The same goes for Fury Cues. Surprisingly good hitting cue at that price point!

This is kinda what i was thinking. I have never played with one but in the back of my mind i always had this feeling that i would never play with one because i like to keep it 'old school' (dont know how else to describe what i was thinking)
with a "normal" wood and cue maker. Not sure if i made any sense hear... but, I tried

I think a lot of it is snob appeal. They are too cheap.

Why do females need to buy $300 jeans when Levi's or Wrangler do the same thing.

Last week a team mate that played with a Cog for the last 10 years said that he tried a Cuetech and then kind of laughed saying he really liked the way that it played. He was impressed.

I think cuetec cues play quite nicely. They have a little bit too much deflection for my taste, but they produce a lot of spin easily. They sound a little strange tho...

I dunno if it's the stock tip or what, but they do have a distinctive DONK! to them. Maybe a new tip would help that, but I've tried one and didn't like the Veltex??? (whatever material they call it) wrap it had....

I have the ES Cuetec and I think it hits OK. Does it hit like a higher line cue? Well no, but IMHO it hits a heck of a lot better than a Mali or Meucci.

Why I like the Cuetec is:
1) I can store it in my car & regardless of the temperature it ain't gonna warp.
2) You can treat it like your lawn mower and it'll still perform pretty consistently.
3) The shaft is super easy to clean and get back into contest time condition.

Should I want more from a cue than this? Yeah, probably.

Its a status thing.

Kinda like the old saying about mopeds and big girls.

But if your secure with who you are you can have fun playing with any of the three :D

It's a tool of many uses

When the Eskimos go on their hunt for baby seals, Cuetec is the prefered instrument. Think of it as a priest, as in giving the last rites to a baby seal.

For the record, I paid some serious money for a Cuetec R-360 and I love it. Feel free to convince me I'm wrong.

I hit with a cuetec at VF for the 1st time. I thought it hit good.
Cuetec sponsor alot of events and I think they do alot of good promoting pool.
Without sponsors , pool would not be where it is today.
I also shot with quite a few other brands of cues.
I don't recall any of them to be bad.
I do know that a bad tip on a good cue is a bad feeling cue.
I also know how to find the right tip for each cue.

Personally, I like to use a closed bridge once in a while.
The hit may not be all that bad, but that shaft is sticky and puts an unwanted hitch in my stroke.:p
Coating a shaft like that is like making a lopsided bowling ball, imo!

cuetec cues helps me win in pool

this makes me mad here i don't like the way that you peope can say that you hate cuetec cues i do own two cuetec cues and to me the cues are a number 1 cue for me to be playing serious pool with allison started in 95 with her partnership wuth them and she loves them and so do i and hope that cuetec sponsors me because like i have said a hundred times before i do not act like earl did when he smashed his cuetec shaft into a million pieces and also i would be a great cue representive for them and i do know that cuetecs are the best cues on the market i go tocuetec.com everyday the new cues are the r360 cues and i will hope to get my new cuetec r360 cue before the natural brown points cue is the one i like and theres a cue in the python series thar looks just like allisons cue has the same design and but it has a python shaft on it but i would put a r360 on it and i do think that for those of you who own a cuetec go with my saying

thanks

Why would Earl use a stick for 13 years and when he's washed up says it was his stick.LOL :)

While I have no idea what they were paying him for his sponsorship deal, I would have to say that the majority of pro players will take any monetary help they can get from sponsors. You dont get rich playing pool and I am sure we all know the truth about the more money you make the more you spend.

That being said....When you have the natural ability of a player like Strickland or Fisher you can adjust to any cue that is put in your hands. While it may not be the most "technologically advanced", neither was Mosconi's cue in his record breaking run.

Personally speaking, I have made some of my most remarkable outs playing with a crooked house cue that looked like a dog had been chewing on it. What does that one guys signature say - Its the Indian, not the arrow.

Cuetec cues are marketed to a very specific demographic of pool players. They are affordable and will stand the test of time. They must be doing something right to have been around as long as they have and are able to sponsor major events all the time.

Umm What?

Here are some pointers. If you are seriously looking to make a name for yourself and attract sponsors, you may want to learn the placement of the following characters on your keyboard...

A Period .
THE SHIFT KEY
A Comma ,

Most importantly, breath and take breath..

Why Does Everyone Hate Cuetec!

Most people are overly concerned with the lack of "snob appeal".
Most people put them down because:
a) They don't cost a lot of $$
b) They aren't "custom".
c) They aren't skilled enough to realize just how good the Cuetec cues play.

Who are these "most people" I keep reading about?

I'm with ya....couldn't be that "most" don't like the feel of a fiberglass coated shaft that seems to be 13mm from the tip all the way to the joint. The only reason I don't play a Cuetec is cuz I love seeing the looks on others faces at the poolhall when I say, "excuse me while I whip this out" (sorry couldn't hep the Blazing Saddles reference), and lo and behold out comes my $10K Jacoby....oh, wait, mine didn't cost a whole lot more than some Cuetecs. Guess there's no snob appeal for me either. :p Maybe I need to forget that I like it, and pay MUCH more for something I MAY learn to like...

I love assumptions ;)

"most people" refers to those that dislike Cuetec cues. Not that difficult to figure out, really.

little bit of sarcasm  Not to speak for him, but I think he may think that you assume thats the reason folks look down on Cuetec. Unless you have a detailed study of those who either expressed dislike or made fun of Cuetecs....I believe that too (that you are assuming). I don't need SNOB APPEAL to play a cue, and the MOST that you think do, more than likely don't either. So, an easier question for you is....WHY WOULD YOU THINK "MOST" THAT DISLIKE CUETECS DO SO BECAUSE THE CUES LACK SNOB APPEAL?? better?
