This message made it's way to me and I can't find an answer, but I'm sure someone here will know what this is and will tell me. Then I can report back and look very knowledgeable and smart among my coworkers.

We have a patron who is in rather desperate need of a book which could
be a memoir, or fiction, in which a champion billiards player loses his
touch and uses visualization to regain his touch. The book is very
short- perhaps 150 pages. One of the elements which struck the patron
was that the main character's wife "couldn't stand him" due to his
personal and professional decline. It is definitely not The Hustler,
nor is it The Color of Money. Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance, AZers

I have that pool book. Everyone has that book, don't they? Maybe the italics look like a signature instead of part of my post.

Completely missed the mark of why this post was made, I think.

Sorry Boyd, don't have an answer for you. But I'm sure someone here knows! Some of us pool players have to be readers :p

....isnt the original poster inquiring about a story-based book, and not a diagram-based instructional book?

I think this one is The Color Purple.
Actually this may be a work of fiction (a novel) that was written by a lady out of New York. I forget the name of her book though.
