Thanks Bob Jewitt for putting on the 14.1 event again. I always have a good time playing my special run-out patterns (and have a good laugh with Bob and Bill while doing it) . Thanks not only for the money, but the time you spend on it all day and its cool that guys like Bill Maropolus helps out keeping tabs on scores etc of all the players. Tough work (I know better than most), but it is appreciated.

I believe the results were...

1st Danny Harriman
2nd Darren Appleton
3-4th John Schmidt, Thorsten Hohmann
5-8th Cory Deuel, Beau Runningen, Huidji See, Charlie Williams

BTW I feel like i stole something when Feijen, Archer and Mika didnt run a 100 and I got in with the 8th highest run!

Does it normally take you two months to thank someone?

I guess 'better late than never'.

I'm just glad to see him posting something, anything, other than a promotion for one of his own events (and then ignoring 100% of the replies).

I totally agree, and I repped him for thanking one of the best posters at AZB, Bob Jewett.

I wish more pro (or semi-retired pro's, as Charlie would like to call himself) would post here. Even if it takes them 2 months to thank someone, that's better than not doing it at all ;)

If the rest of us now only could behave ourselves we might get more of the topplayers contributing on this forum.

Welcome "back" to the forum Charlie. Hope you will contribute every now and then, and not only with press-releases about upcoming events ;)

Good event, good turnout. Kudos to Bob and Bill, of course.

Good of Charlie to support. By the way, he does a little for 14.1 himself, in addition to his smooth runs captured on video. :grin-square:

Charlie -

The 14.1 world needs the support. Thanks for playing and helping with the event in jersey.

Charlie,

This is lame and self-serving -- "special run-out patterns", yuck. You wait for months and then mispell Bob's last name.

Par for the course, Mr. Willis.

Mark

Whatever reasons people have for bashing this guy, I don't think this post really calls for giving him flak. He's thanking someone. If you give people credit for when they're doing something decent (like writing a thank you note), they might be more inclined to act decent in the future.

I get the impression 'special run-out patterns' was probably a little self-effacing sarcasm. He's using 'special' to mean "not correct or by the book" I'm guessing. I don't think he was trying to claim they were really awesome and original. Also I don't think bob would be offended at the misspelling, he misspelled Bill's last name too but it sounds like they're all friends. It's the thought that counts. Let the guy give credit to people who deserve it.

Creedo: You are right on the money. I was there and kept score for one of his runs. He was kind of making fun of the tough shots he had to keep making. He's a pretty good shot maker, though. Seemed like a pretty good guy.

If I was a pro, I'd have a hard time posting at a place like this. Everyone here has opinions, and very few of us are shy about keeping them to ourselves (me included).

As a fan of 14.1, I have to echo Charlie's thank you. The more exposure the game gets the better. Wish I could have been there to witness the competition.

His name's spelled Jewett, BTW

Thanks Bob Jewitt for putting on the 14.1 event again.
Ever thought of changing your nickname to the "Red Dragon"..? :D
