Multiple choice, you can pick more than one...Of the games (listed) that you've played, which ones did you find most challenging?

For me...for some reason, 9 ball is harder than 10 ball (maybe because there's more defense in 10)

I haven't played Snooker or Cribbage on that list.

The easiest games for me are 8 Ball, 14.1, one pocket, and pyramid...my favorites (funnest for me) are 14.1 and one pocket...working on my 9 Ball game lately.

Happy shooting!

Since there is no list, Straight Pool, One Pocket, Banks, Snooker. I see there is a list but not until I posted my reply. Not necessarily one more so than the others.

Aha! There's the list.

I think pyramid is the most difficult. Giant balls and tiny pockets don't go together very well. This game gave me a new respect for Stalev.

What does "hardest" mean? Hardest to win games against players your own level? Hardest to execute successful shots? Shortest run lengths? Requiring the most mechanical skills? Requiring the most knowledge?

An undefined question like you asked will only get you a collection of personal impressions.

Hardest, as in "most challenging" (as mentioned in my post)...I don't think it's necessary to expound on what that means...why complicate a very simple question by over-analysis and categorization? This is a simple post on a billiards forum, intended to exact a simple answer...not a college thesis submitted for meticulous scrutiny and definition of the English language...and "a collection of personal impressions" is what defines the product of a poll, ie; that is my objective...however sir, thank you for your concern.

Happy shooting,

there are a few on that list I havent played, but I would say 1 pocket is the most difficult game for me, because, if I make a mistake against some guys I play with, its game over. I tend to be too aggressive, and I am working on my defensive play. I still get the uncontrollable urge to be a hero and try to run out, and usually it bacfires with some pretty embarrassing consequences. Thats all I have to say about that.......

whilst i do see what your saying - you just want to ask a simple question and get a few statistics in the form of a poll, PJ is right.

there are too many different variables to take into account and you need to define exactly what skills are in question in order to say which game is the hardest.

plus it depends on what you want to achieve. I personally think pool is a tad more difficult game than snooker to truly master but at the same time it's much easier for my frail old nan or some local bangers/kids to pocket a couple of balls on a pool table than a snooker table. Does that nescecarilly mean pool's easier? I think not.

14.1 and snooker imo. In any of the other games I have had many days where it just felt too easy (especially in practice). Straight Pool and snooker always challenge me to my limits regardless of how well I play.

Furthermore the skill that is required to consistently run hundreds, far outweighs what is required to run multiple racks in 9 ball and 10 ball.

But of course JMHO.

So the answers will mean something?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

It's a poll!

Pretty self explanitory...if you can't figure out what the %s represent, I don't think I can help you sorry.

I'm not going to waste any more time with your comments, frankly it's annoying me...if you don't like the post that's fine, I never asked for constructive criticism...this whole correspondance between us is rediculous IMO.

Best regards,

i picked 14.1 i noticed a lot of people picked 1 pocket. but 1 pocket's only as hard as your opponent makes it

let it go..

the poor guys whole lifestyle is based on argument rather than answer..

he never answers any questions... he just states opinions..

and his opinion is everyone who disagrees with him.. is wrong

it's kinda sad really...

14.1.

the amount of continious concentration you need to run alot of balls in a row is tremendious.
in no other game can you find that.

3 Cushion by far for me

The only problem with that is that he said the hardest pocket billiard game from his list. :D Without defining hardest the poll is next to meaningless anyway, but that still doesn't mean to throw in non-pocket billiard games that aren't on his list!

Most of this is apples and oranges. FWIW I agree with PJ that you just can't ask which game is the hardest.

The most equalizing game (hard for an accomplished player to beat a novice player) is 8-ball on the bar table. But for a novice player, this is the easiest game to win against an accomplished player.

The hardest game to run out a full rack of balls is snooker on a 12ft table.

The game with the most complicated strategy is One-Pocket.

The most physically draining game is 14.1.
