Hello I heard good things about this message board so I signed up. I recently found a cue on this section and made the guy an offer which he accepted. I spent all day trying to get to the bank to deposit the money for the cue to hold up my end. I rush home send him the payment through paypal and then open a message saying he is selling it to his friend and refunding me my money. Now we had a deal I went through the trouble to hold up my end just to get pushed out of the way that sucks. Im not sure if this kind of thing happens a lot on this site but I will not be looking to buy here until I figure out if its safe or not. Wow what a let down

Here is the link to his thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=133589

This would have been my first custom cue

To top it off paypal has a hold on my cash

Thanks kyelin great business

sorry for you. sounds like bad business here ... this kind of transactions really should be avoided .. a deal accepted is a deal accepted .. why can't people just honour their words???

Looks like he's done this before !
Leave a neg I trader rep for him . If he gets enough of these folks will stop dealing with him and that will be the end of it !!

This is not typical of the many AZ'ers who buy, sell and trade here. Chalk it up to an isolated bad experience. Always leave itrader.

I havent bought that much here, but every transaction has had a good outcome. Ive had two incidents that were no fault of the sellers, yet they still took very good care to make it right. I know it can be hard to tell, but If they have a lot of good I Trader, you should be pretty safe. I have dealt mainly with people on here that have their own website/store or ebay store. Dont let that one bad apple ruin your appetite.

Be glad he didnt honor it. That is one ugly cue. That handle looks like a piece of wood that was pulled out of my fireplace.

It could have been a lot worse. Atleast you got your money back. Make sure and read people's itraders before buying.

I'm sorry to hear that your cue purchase fell through.

If you wanted the cue because it's a Sugartree, you'll find others for sale here. If you liked the look, you can have a nice rosewood plain jane built by the cuemaker of your choice.

I hate to be a killjoy

But a while back I bought up this same topic, except in reverse. I had buyers pulling out after commiting and the majority replies I got were "Oh, that comes with selling", or "It happens", or some other lame excuse to why it was ok.

So I have to ask, it's ok for a BUYER to do, but not OK for a seller to do?

Quaint little one way world we have here...

This stuff will ALWAYS happen in any business. Just have to not hold items (unless they are your reliable customers) and sell to the one who puts the cash in your hand first. And remember the ones who do not hold up to their word. One could always call them out as well. Just like this thread, so others will know. But yes, it is bad either way, buyer or seller. But what do you do? Just not hold out till the money is in your account/cash in hand, I suppose.

There is no painless out. If you get a guy that says I'll take it.. he goes without payment, you then sell it, he'll bi*ch that he didn't get enough time.. bla. bla bla..

It does suck both way's, for sure...

JV (---one thing better than iTrader.. is lynching..

agreed! btw, hows the josey, LSU?

It played well, but the guy that was supposed to buy my Jensen backed out so I had to sell one of them and Beware really wanted the Josey. Great cue for the money though.

Bad deals are part and pacel of life. You win most, you lose some. LoL. Most guys in Singapore are straight shooters, so please don't blacklist Singaporeans. I'm sure many people here can vouch for us. :) It's just that there's always a rotten apple in every bag of apples somehow.

As the rest said, you should leave a negative iTrader. After 2 backing out of 2 trades out of 5, i'm sure it'll be hard for him to do any more business here.

I had a few transactions with Kye Lin years ago before the advent of the itrader feedback and things worked out ok.
