my vote goes to #1 and #3, I liked them both as soon as I saw them and I still like them most. I voted for #1 in terms of prize winner, since the idea is "AZerish". But if you ask me which one I would like to have, that is #3 in the first place (not only because of the beautiful design but because noone except me here will understand those green boxes and "got rep" phrase :D)

I'm a little confused, I submitted numerous worthwhile design ideas, how come none of them are up for consideration?

LeagueShirts: If I were Jerry or Mike, I would not have considered any of your designs that you had copyrighted.

Please explain why anyone would accept your designs if you marked them as copyrighted. Wouldn't that imply that you had some right to those designs?

Thanks,
JoeyA

Of course I have a right to the designs, I designed them. They are not to be used or replicated unless I provide permission, which is easily done by request. If one of them was selected, and if it won, I would allow it to be produced. I was going to donate a design for the contest in good faith. I have a business that designs exclusive billiards novelty and team shirts- I need to protect those designs just as the other shirts companies do. We recently saw a huge trademark argument on the board. I don't see why anyone is surprised about design ownership.

You are absolutely correct. In fact, I believe you (and any artist) are somewhat protected by law immediately after creation of any art. Proving it is a little different than if you actually filed with the copyright office.

I created my designs with the sole purpose of AZBilliards using my design for whatever they want to. I don't want any rights to it nor do I need any rights to it. I did it for AZBilliards.

8 ball is my fav

But I feel AZ reps all forms of billiards so if this design included the 8, 9, 10 with a 14-1 combo, couple of red and white balls on table that creates an unending horizon would rock too

Yes, BVAL, I also provided my designs in good faith for free. Normallly designers charge money for work. I offer any of my designs for the shirt use. They are not for use by other t-shirt makers however, hence the copyright. Copyrights are claimed, not filed however. See: Wikipedia.

Yes, quite a few do.

Re: Choice 4... Shouldn't that be a 9-ball? No one here avidly plays 8-ball, do they?

In fact I would bet that there are more people on here who DON'T play 9 ball than do, if you count all of the one pocket, straight pool, eight ball and other game players.

The 8 ball is a more universally recognized symbol, imo.

For what it's worth - originally there were two different designs. One with an 8 ball and one with a 9-ball. There was also the option to put a 10 ball or 14 ball on there. That one design could have 4 different versions. At least that is what I had in mind.

I would have voted for #1 except rep is so easy to get these days it's kind of meaningless.

I really like choices number one and two. Too bad you can't make two T-Shirts. Oh wait, YOU CAN!
#1 is just so funny and like an inside joke for AZ'ers. #2 is just way cool!

It's not supposed to represent what's universally recognised. It's suppose to represent AZ Billiards. :D
