Keith McCready and Keith Bennett played...what happened?

Just WOW

Is Sparky still living in North Carolina? Another pic taken at this tournament at Fast Eddie's. They were giving out free T-shirts at the tournament, and you know I had to snatch me one! :)

JAM keep 'em coming!! This has all the makings of one of the greatest posts ever. I'm loving all the comments and pictures, great article also.
Just to brag, I have a cue made for "Good Times" by Andy Gilbert, a small piece of pool history.

LOL! He was so sick at that tournament. He had just gotten off the plane from being at a tournament in Europe, and then his kidney stones flared up. He had to go to the hospital. He still played his matches, but he was really suffering, poor fellow!

Diana is going to kick my butt for posting this picture of her posing with another North Carolinian. Diana, you have to admit your hair looks GREAT in this picture, aside from that object going toward your right ear! :o

Tony Watson won the Louie Roberts A&E Award at the DCC and has a lifetime free entry. :)

Ever heard the one about the "barstool bet" with Little T? Cost me half a buck. He's just a hoot. Love that kid. I remember him with glasses and lookin' like some white version of Urkel asking most anyone for action. What a trip!

Tell me about the bar stool bet???

Me and Mike Cone were sitting in Wilmington and EVERYBODY was trying to match doing all kinds of bs. Finally Little Tony said he'd spot everyone at the bar two inches and stone cold lay it on the barstool. A couple of us decided we'd take that spot. Well, Mike Cone comes back from over in the corner and sits down beside me. "Well, how'd it go?" "Fu#@ it. I just paid him. Damn thing had a ribcage. It looked like a baby holdin' an apple." We all fell into the floor. About an hour later from Mike, "Dude, it was scary. Remind me to never go out with anbody he's EVER dated." Fell to the floor again.

OMG, next time I see Tony, I hope I forget that trick! :embarrassed2:

Here's a picture of Tony and his, uh, stick! :grin-angelic:

I have seen Tony lean at the rack end of a pool table and lay it out...and touched the spot on the table.:D

I wanted to ask if that was a 9-foot table; but I won't. BTW, y'all must not have much goin' on up in North Carolina-- to have to come up with that kind of entertainment...:D

Doc

this was over 15 yrs ago..i used to run around with jeremy jones and he told me a story where he was a hotel room with tony and and someone else i dont recall who...but tony was in the shower then just stormed out of the bathroom screamin "hey guys look at this!!"...u can guess what he was braggin about!!!

I was at the tournament that year at Goldsboro, me and my buddy Red. It was awfull packed all weekend and if one of us went to the head the other one had to argue with 2 or 3 people who wanted the seat. The funny thing was the seats we grabbed had names plastered on them but nobody ever said thats our seats. Bobby Pickle was sauced and smoking some loud mouth boy on the bartable behind us for a 100 a game so we had great action on both sides. We have not been back because the crowd and smoke but the food cooked outside is awesome.--Leonard

I swear to God, every time I see that dude I think of him playing this guy in Charlotte. He was giving him the eight for a hundred a game and T was literally running around the table screaming, "This shit is TOO easy. Just TOO easy." The guy he was playing was laughing at the antics and down about fifteen hundred. Quite a sight to see a fifteen year old doing this.

I hope Sparky's doing okay, Frankie. I haven't seen him since Turning Stone in '06. He's always brought a smile to my face! I see his name at various regional tournaments, and he always seems to be in the money rounds! :)

Here's another picture of a legendary North Carolinian player.

AzBilliards Gold Star of today, April 23, 2009, goes out to who can name this player with the two names that he's known by. :winknudge:

Well, since we're on a North Carolina high, I might as well throw in Charlie Bryant.

Though he's living in the Lone Star State today, Hillbilly was born in North Carolina. :)
