Last Saturday of the Month Hot Shots Billiards' Monthly Open 10ball Tournament

We had an exciting day of pool at Hot Shots Billiards in Cypress, CA. We had 35 players show up to play in our Monthly Last Saturday of the Month Open 10ball Tournament. It's great to see the support for our local tournaments from everybody and all skill levels.

1st Place - $400. - Bernardo "King Kong" Chavez (Split)
2nd Place - $200. - Jose "Amang" Parica (Split)
3rd Place - $150. - Oscar Dominguez
4th Place - $100. - Ernesto Dominguez
5th & 6th Place - $50. - Terry Nguyen (Room Owner), Francisco Galindo
7th & 8th Place - $35. - Brian Parks, Fach Garcia

We had some exciting matches throughout the day but the best was, definitely, saved for last. Bernardo "King Kong" Chavez had an excellant tournament day running through the field throwing opponents to the One-Loss side one by one. Some of the opponents included Jose Parica and Oscar Dominguez. Bernardo and Oscar met up in the tournament to play for the hot seat and what an exciting match it was. Bernardo, after going up 3-0, just about let the match slip out of his hands to a dangerous Oscar Dominguez. Bernardo was able to seal the match after it reached hill/hill.

On the One-Loss side we had some nail-biting matches as well. Ernesto Dominguez and Jose Parica met on the west side of the brackets. The winner would have to play Oscar to get to the finals. Parica made a statement going up on Ernesto 3-0 but that didn't seem to phase Ernesto. He showed a lot of heart climbing back into the match making it hill/hill. Parica was able to come out on top after Ernesto hung up a six ball in the final rack. The seven ball was rolling into the opposite corner only to stop short of dropping. Oscar Dominguez was ready and waiting for the outcome of this match. The Oscar D./ Jose Parica match had gone back and forth. Oscar was able to go up 2-1 on Parica but that would be the final victory for Oscar in the match. Jose Parica was able to come out on top winning the next 3 games finalizing the match with a 10 ball long rail bank with the bridge. Final score 4-2. Bernardo Chavez and Jose Parica decided to split the 1st and 2nd place prize money.

On behalf of Hot Shots Billiards and myself, we would like to thank ALL of those that supported the event. We hope to see all of you and more next month. See you then.

Thanks Again Everyone,

Thanks Again Everyone,

My apologies, there is an error in the Oscar D./ Parica match. The 10ball Long Rail Bank came in the Ernesto D./ Parica match. Again, I apologize, it was a long day.
