Just so you don't have to feel alone here, JAM, let me say that Keith McCready is one of the best things to ever happen to "action" pool. His name should not have to be defended at any time. Besides, the fact that he came on here and posted his opinion on this match, and the fact that you was the person who got him to do it, says something about how much you both love the game.
As for Chris Bartram, I have never met the gentleman, but I sure do admire his spunk. I'm not into gambling, but it is shaping up to be one exciting match between he and Rodney.

and nobody robbed him because the players of today are better face it.

if you think they are better today, then how come none of them are spotting the old guys like effren and parica? who is giving those old guys weight and beating them? where are all the great young players are who want to step up to play a couple of guys in their mid fifties (past their prime)...and since the younger guys play better today they surely could spot some old champs who are way past their prime.
I know you play pretty well but I have to say that in his prime Keith would have robbed guys who gave you the eight, by giving them at least the eight.

Zero Advantages
you are talking about sports where people can jump higher, run faster, are bigger and stronger.. all of which give you zero advantages in pool and by the way..alex, shane, Johnny...etc arent bigger,stronger or faster than any of the old time players.
If anything I think the American younger players are not as good as the older players..there are less of them (due to online poker, world series of poker..and the closure of pool halls back that up.
