I'm totally opposite. The brazilian I have is inconsistent from piece to piece in every aspect of color, grain structure, weight & tone. All of my palisander has always been very consistent in weight & tone, varying only a little bit in color. I actually find it easier to aquire brazilian than palisander, too. Braz is certainly more expensive.
Have you tried any of the SE Asian rosewoods, Dave? There's several types but it's always sold as kam-phi or cochen.
You've got some ironwood burl? Would love to see pic's...
Hi Dave, want to see the hole CueTwo more pics...............
My favorite rosweood cues have been rosewood on rosewood. Points, forearm, buttlseeve all rosewood. Usually 2 different varieties. What varieties work best for this style of cue? I am thinking Bois de Rose and a darker variety, maybe East Indian work well. What would you use? Thanks
