9 Ball (the movie trailer)

I don't think I've seen anything about advanced copies except for maybe when the movie was first being touted about 2 years ago. I doubt it'll make the big screen but for what it's worth, I'll buy it and add it to my collection when it does come out.

Another "Awesome" pool movie. I swear its like if there is a movie about pool being made, its standard to just through some crap together and excpect it to do well. I can count 3 movies that ever did good about pool, about 30 have been made though.

OMG,I was waiting for Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot, swinging pool cues in the background...........Brutal.

I wanna try to keep an open mind; at this point, any Pool movie that gives some exposure is better than nothing.

As far as the trailer, it can use some polishing. The problem with a lot of indie films is that...they seem like they were made on an indie budget. If I were to throw my two cents in, the trailer needs a sound track. It also needs a professional voice over for the intro and maybe a lil narration. I dunno the producer, but I can point them in a direction for VO work.

I figured everyone was exaggerating and being overly tough critics.

...then I watched the trailer! That was really bad.

The trailer is really sad...but I will probably buy the DVD. It makes me wonder why people making pool movies don't learn from watching "The Hustler"...

Yeah. Lots of indie movies look like they were made on an indie budget. And that can take away from the overall picture. No one could really argue that.

But based on what I just saw of the trailor, I would be surprised if this thing even has an indie budget. It looks kinda like it was shot on a personal camcorder. The acting is awful. REALLY awful. And the music that they did play sounded like something out of a really weak, public access tv show.

I think in order to salvage something of any interest here, they might need to gather some money, spend it on some equipment, and hire actors.

After watching this, I find myself longing for slightly less awful Freddie Prinze Jr. movie, Shooting Gallery.

Hey Girl ......haven't seen you on here for a while ....my friend Wendy has a restaurant in Brooklyn called Wendy's plate ....know it ....?

Real actors and decent dialog would help

I had to quit the clip after about 20 seconds. Sorry but I thought it was really bad!

you read the synopsis? ROFLMAO~~~~!!!111

Synopsis:
Gail had her tenth birthday party tonight, but her Dad was not there. She loves her dad, and he loves her. He had told her he was bringing her a special present, so why was he so late? Gail thought she knew what the present was; it must be that special custom pool cue she had wanted. Dad must have stopped to pick it up on his way home from work; maybe he stopped at Vicky's billiards to shoot a few games of 9-ball and lost track of time? Gail looks at the posters of the great women pool champions on her wall, Dorothy Wise and Jean Balukas and smiles. A screech of tires outside shakes Gail's attention to the street. As Gail quickly opens her window, she sees a car speed up and stop next to her Dad, as he staggers up the street holding a long package under his arm. Gail waves to her Dad, he smiles, waves back, and blows her a kiss. A man jumps out of the car, runs up to Gail's Dad and stabs him in the chest and yells in his face "Dirty dogs must die!" Gail races to her Dad's side. As he lies dying, he says "Gail. Have faith, you will be a champion."

Ok. Is this like a school project for some kid in the 8th grade??

Or did someone actually labor over a computer, typing out a script for this thing, the whole while saying to themselves...

"Yeah! Yeah! This is gonna be AWESOME!"

Because I find that incredibly hard to believe!

I will watch it, BUT I have to say that trailer is not the reason why.

It screams of Porno Intro! The lighting, the background, the sound, and the cut aways..

That needs a little work. But its pool related and I will watch it!

About 2 years ago when they first said that Jenn was going to star in the movie I said "that's strike 3 for the movie." I got a lot of flame throwing for it. It's not that I dislike Jenn, it's just that she isn't an actress...and I believe this trailer proves it. Johnnyt

I thought Poolhall Junkies was absolutely horrible and that was a significantly bigger budget movie with much higher priced actors (Christopher Walken). So i'm really interested to see what comes of this considering the apparent lack of fundage.

holy crap. just wow.

I have respect for whoever is following their dream of making a real movie, I dont really want to knock "art." But wow. that is bad to the point of me guessing it *has* to be a joke. right? They are not really making that movie. Are they?
