Dennis: I'm going to try to make this tourney. It's about a 2.5 hour drive for me. Not 100%, but I'll try.

How good are you? We'll have to figure your handicap.

They will then have the 14.1 NCS qualifier two weeks later, same place.
 
May 16 tournament cancelled

This tournament has been cancelled. They are still working on getting things ready for the May 30 qualifier and schedules have been changed and they'll just put this one off until some time in June.
 
Aww man, I was hoping to come up there and test out those Red Shoe rails. I can tenderize 'em with the best of 'em. Rail technician to Table #3!! Stat!

You never answered my earlier post so it was probably going to be tough letting an unknown into a handicapped tournament anyway. We would have probably had to put you in at Bobby Hunter's handicap.

Anyway, you ought to come down on May 30 for the NCS qualifier.
 
With all respect...I really don't know how to tell you how good I am. How do I convey my proficiency in 14.1 other than to say I don't think I'm all that good? Below is a post I made recently that should give you some insight into my very humble 14.1 skills. Hardly a threat to Bobby.

Maybe I misunderstood your intentions. Sorry if I'm kinda inviting myself into your scene, I just thought your posts on AZB were an open invitation...otherwise why not promote your events through your established network of known players, not an open post on the AZB 14.1 forum? If all new players are automatically assigned the top handicap...it's kinda exclusionary, right? I'm not trying to stir a pot, just trying to clarify.

Anyway, I recorded each run, but I did not record any innings where we simply traded safties as that was not relevent. I did include a few 1 ball innings where my opponent left the table with a few balls on the table (tied up) and I made 1 and ducked. I could have easily ignored those to pad my average, but I'm being honest and posting real-world innings. Also, I took 3 fouls.

In the end, I averaged 9.2 balls per inning. It goes to show how much the game changes when you don't start with a BIH break shot every time and you have to take whatever your opponent left you. Also, I wasn't about to shoot any fliers like I would if I were practicing and going for an absolute high run.

It is handicapped and started out with the people we know in the two leagues but has expanded and can still expand. For example, I kind of know how elvicash from Indianapolis plays in relation to me; I know how Maropolis plays in relation to me, Ed Latimer of our league knows how Jeff Mohl plays and knows how Bob Treff plays in relation to him. The list goes on and on.

My question to you was to get the ball rolling to see if we could find people in common that could assess your game so we could figure a fair handicap if you played. You are a little west of us and it might be hard finding people who know you and us, but I think you probably play fairly well based on your recent high runs. I'd guess you play better than Latimer who goes off at 150 and maybe not as well as Bobby.

Anyway, come for the qualifier and play.
 
Hi Dennis...one day I hope to make it up there. Thanks for all your help with the NCS 14.1 Continuous qualifier on May 30-31.
