When a new cue has a wrap in the handle can just the handle be replaced? Does the cue need to just be sh** canned and start a new one? When I roll the cue with a shaft on it or not the handle lifts off the table. This is such a wrap that when it is rolled the wrapped spot will stop the cue from rolling.

It can be replaced but it is neither cheap nor easy. I can do it, prices start at $250.

you mean warp not wrap. yes it can be fixed. its considered major surgery on a cue. need a full refinish. if its a cheap cue dont worry about it. also if the tip doesnt leave the table when screwed together it wont effect the shot
Thanks for the spelling help, I should know not to post after drinking margaritas. It is by no means a cheap cue. the maker has aready replaced it once and I had it for 1 week and the same problem happened again. The cuemaker has been great to work with and the cue hits great. I am just worried about what might happen over the life of the cue.

When I read the above note all I can think of is my KF carom cue that did the same exact thing after they claim they fixed it. Total BS.. I'll never fix my warped carom cue I just keep it to remind me of the mistake I made buying their POS and then trusting them to 'fix' it. It is now like my predator shaft that is 'acceptably warped'... Got to love the customer service of some of the companies that do not care at all about their customers..

There has to be a logical reason why the movement. This can envolve everything from the wood to how you yourself stores it. I know a lot of people who leave there cue together in a rack or on a table they have in their basement, til they hear about heat, cold, and humidity changes and what could happen.

Hey Mike, I agree that how a cue is stored can affect it, that is as clear as day. Mine was never stored improperly and has been stored exactly like all my other cues and it has warped twice. None of my other cues are warped nor do I expect they will.. Which is why I'll never buy a cue from overseas again.

That's why I listed both reasons, Your end is covered on storage the other is the actual wood. That itself could be a number of reasons. The end result without costing you more money is between you and your maker, Outside sources could rectify it but not without you investing more. I bought a batch of handles once from a new supplier to me, but not new to some of the others, My ratio of warpage was 2 to 1 and fast, when I talked to the supplier his answers were B.S., I tossed everything I bought from him in the trash, figure in the long run, I got out cheap cause he'll never get me again.
You talked about the cuemaker, but never mentioned if he is making cues IN or OUT of the United States. Where is he from?...JER

That is why every time I see one of these threads I respond about the circumstances with my cue. It was not a cheap cue either, $430.00 for a carom cue that is useless. It will be along time before I forget the screwing I got, if ever..

He is from the US. I store all my cues in cases when not in use.
If the cue maker has replaced it before and you have had it for only 1 week, I think the cue maker has had too many Margaritas.
If I were you I would send the cue back again, he should correct the problem for free.

If you have given the cuemaker a chance to fix it and they do not and then give you crap about it their name should be posted. Once moer for the record my cue was stored and maintained properly at all times. If the cuemaker has not had the chance then no, they should have the oppurtunity to correct the problem first.

cues, specially custom cues, should come with warranty even if the customer is thousands of miles away. warranty claim should be totally free of charge to the customer.
The CM is replacing the cue. He is starting on a new cue at no charge to me. the CM has been more than happy to fix this problem. The reason for the post was I just did not know if the handle could be replaced without causing other problems. But thanks to all who helped.
