I guess I may have something if I can get it on tape. The high-speed camera necessary for it is $$$ though.

I am sorry but the cueball can't get from point A to point B with the object ball in the way. It just can't happen. It is a double hit no matter how you want to look at it.
That Dr. guy who posts on here has one. He may already have done the test of the close jump and the double hit. The one I did I did from 1/2 inch away and you could actually see the cueball ride the tip upwards as the cue bounced away and go forward over the ball.
