China Open Reporting

Jeff DeLuna is down 7:1 and he is NOT HAPPY. Shane gets on the board to make it 6:1

Jasmin is at 3:3 and breaking.

Karen Corr is up 4:3 against Ga Young Kim

John, what happened to Hohmann - Kristiansen. The score has been 8-10 for ages now. Vegar Kristiansen is our norwegian hope in this tournament

It 10:10 and Thorsten just dashed your hopes with a 1:9 combo. :-( Sorry to report that.

Anyone else want to call the Pan and Kelly match?

If so then I will continue to report the other ones?

Pan breaks and makes two balls and is in line to run out the first rack. For some reason they started her last match an hour late and so now the schedule is off.

1:0 Pan

Shane runs out to make it 6:2 for Niels.

Karen Corr is up 5:3

Jasmin is up 4:3

I am going to have to find out the Japanese guy's name as he is putting a spanking on DeLuna. Now it's 8:2

Kelly is on the defensive here. Pan has just played a jam up safety. Kelly has to jack up and kick two rails - she doens't get it. The 3-8 seems to be wired to the side based on how Pan played position on it. Now she has a routine runout. Somehow she manages to freeze the cueball to teh rail making the shot on the 8 more difficult. But she nails it like the machine she is. 2:0 Pan

Neils runs out to go up 7:2. Jeff DeLuna is melted into his chair facing 10:2 Karen Corr is up 6:2 Charlie Williams is down 5:3 Jasmin is down 5:4

Kelly runs out after Pan's break to get on the board 1:2 Pan.

DeLuna wakes up long enough to play a great safety. The Japanese guy hits it but leaves deLuna and open table.

Neils has an open table and is runnig out. Charlie is down 6:2

Kelly makes three balls on the break and runs out in 30 seconds. 2:2

Kelly nails a table length jump shot and draws the rock for position. Then she tries to cheat the pocket on the three and just hangs it up. :-(

Pan DOGS the four and gets a monster roll. Kelly kicks it and leaves Pan a shot. This time Pan makes it and gets in line for the five.

Shane is down 9:2. DeLuna did not get out and loses 11:2

Jasmin is down 7:4 Karen is up 7:4

Souquet has 4 and I can't see what his opponent has.

Kelly is back at the table with an open table. The five is a touch dicey but she makes it easily. Lands close to the rail for position on the 9 but fires it in like a hanger. 3:3 and it's a race.

Shane is looking at a kick shot and he misses the ball. Karl Boyes is up 7:3 and jumping. The one wipes it feet on teh way in but it goes.

Kelly back at the tabel with an open shot. She has taken nothing off the pace and is running out effortlessly. Apparently she wants to help the tournament director get back on schedule.

4:3 Kelly

Neils did not get out with ball in hand and Shane picks up another game. 9:3 Neils.

Kelly breaks dry and Pan can see the one but as no pocket and elects to push. Kelly says thanks for the obvious safety and almost hides teh one completely. But it wasn't enough as Pan plays a safety in return and sends Kelly to the jump cue. Kelly jumps and plays a stun shot to keep the cueball and the one separated by distance. Pan's safes get tighter each shot. Now Kelly is going to the jump cue again but it's a lot tougher than the last one. And she almost drills it - but leaves Pan a long straight in.

Shane gets another game and now it's 9:4.

Jasmin is facing the hill at 8:5 Karen is done so I assume she won.

Pan has an easy out from here. Charlie is 8:3 down Souquet has 5

Thorsten is playing FuJian Bo and Fu has 5.

Shane is running out to make it 5 for him.

Pan gets out and it's 4:4

Pan breaks and makes 3 balls.and nothing is tied up. The only problem is the three to the four because the five only has one pocket to go in. So she came up a little short and now has to use the bridge to make the five and draw the cueball up table. No problem.

Shane has run out and the score is 9:5 Niels. Shane has the soft break going and it's working.

Pan gets out of line on the 9 and misses shooting it to the side. Leaves Kelly a hanger. 5:4 Kelly. That may come back to haunt Pan later.

Kelly makes two balls on the breal and is left with a 1:7 combo which she drains and holds for position on the one. Five open balls from here. Stop shot on the 8 - easy shot on the 9 6:4 Fisher.

Neils is running out to go on the hill.

Jasmin pulls within 8:7 it's a race to 2 and she is spotting a game.

Souquet still has 6 -

Boyes is up 8-4

Fu Jin Bo has 6 against Thorsten - I don't know what Thorsten has but he is shooting.

Neils soft breaks and makes two balls and is dead in line on the one. Nothing is tied up here.

Kelly breaks dry.

Charlie has pulled to 8:6.

Pan has an open table. Shane is about to be out - You haff been Terminated.

Pan has a tester here straight in on the six and has to draw it back up table - she overdraws it into the corner and leaves Kelly and easy three balls which she mops up. 7:4 now.

Kelly makes a ball but comes up hooked on the one. She might be able to see the edge of it. Nope - she executes the standard kick-stop and hooks Pan. Pan is going to the jump cue with a LONG distance between the blcoking ball and the cueball. She makes the jump and makes a good hit - excellent control on the jump shot. Leaves Kelly a shot though and that is the kiss of death. Kelly makes the one and then plays an excellent safety. Pan can only kick here into traffic. She misses the 2 giving ball in hand to Kelly.

Souquet has 7 and is breaking.

Kelly has only six to contend with and she stuns the cueball into perfect position. She may well end up getting this tournament back on schedule. Runs out to get on the hill first. She has three minutes to end this on time :-)

Kelly is hooked on the one after the break with just an edge peeking out. She thins it to play safe and Pan is in trouble here as she must kick one or two rails and the one is frozen to teh 7 - she hits it just as she wantted two sending the cueball up table - but because the one was stuck to the 7 it didn't go anywhere and left Kelly straight in. Kelly now has an open table with only the postion from teh five to six being a little tricky - so she forgoes that problem and elects to try the 5:9 combo. Jsut hangs the nine in the corner!!

Pan doesn't have it easy and has to play the five hard into the side and force the position three rails for th six. Gets in line and is looking good here to get out. She does and it's 8:5. I can't really fault Kelly there but I probably would not have gone for an open table off angle combo.

Pan makes the 2 on the break and has a backwards cut on the one which she drains. She draws teh cueball into the 8 to stop it and takes a long thin cut on the 4. Jacked up this is tough to make and hold position. And she is unable to and ends up with no good shot on the five. She is eyeing up a very think cut to the side where she will need to let go of the cueball. No she misses it - the exact same miss as she did earlier on the nine.

Kelly is left with four open balls. Dead in line to advance - - - - - - - - - - -- -- --- - - - - - --- ------- ------- - - ---nails the 9 and Kelly Fisher is in the top four!

Fury Cues - Kelly's sponsor for this event is very happy with this result.!!!

Poor Pan looks like she is about to cry. The media is surrounding her and she clearly wants to be left alone. Only one crew is interviewing Kelly. Pan must feel a lot of pressure as the weight of China rests on her shoulders.

NOooo!!! pan xiaoting just lost it.... that cut was hers to take..... kelly had such a close shot on that 5-9 combo though.. my heart was racing when it was bouncing in the pocket.. there goes my favorite :frown:
