iconcue: cues for sale

Porper Abalone Cue

I used to sell cues for Joe Porper and I was asked about the Abalone pointed cue, about what was genuine ivory on the cue.

Joe started a Tuxedo collection some years ago, ivory inlays on ebony. This cue pre-dates Joe's "Tuxedo" collection but is along similar lines.

I just spoke with Joe - Creative Inventions, 818-727-7966, and confirmed what I thought. The joint is ivory, the abalone is genuine, the white inlays surrounding the abalone points are ivory, the buttcap is synthetic and the ferrules are most likely synthetic, but some were ivory. The ring pattern is silver and abalone.

I sold some Tuxedo cues for Joe - In fact I think I sold about a dozen. His asking price was $2500 and I got $1500 to $2000 for most of them on e-bay.

Your price on that cue is excellent - actually very tempting, but I have way too many cues too...
