Brass Joints ?

Back in the day brass was used a lot for joints. Why is it not used today?
Too soft ?

They oxidize and you have to polish them.

brass joints are still standard on snooker cues, though you do have to keep up on the polishing like joeyincali said....

My Predator Hoppe cue has a brass uniloc joint. But since it's supposed to be a retro antique type model, I don't polish it at all. It adds to the cue's character
