nbll01 aka Albrecht Custom Cues Missing?

LOSING MoNEY

I recently lost 75.000 on a house i had built.The builder went belly up.But even he ,contacted me to tell me to either sue his estate or go to the state of Florida construction fund.I went after the fund and Florida told me they have no money left.Iam screwed but at least the builder manned up and told me face to face what went wrong.This dosn't get my money back ,but at least I understand.:mad::frown:
 
I have done all I can do at this point. I was under the impression that the customers already knew Dave was not building cues anymore. I was shocked to see that people still thought he was. When I found this out I called him and asked him wtf? I told him he needs to contact his customers and let them know what is going on. I have not talked to him since (a week and a half) nor do I have a desire to. It is unfortunate that he is not calling or answering his phone. It makes this situation 10 times worse than it needs to be. There is no excuse for it. I have a feeling that when he gets back on his feet he will pay the people back that he owes. He does have one less friend than he did before though.

As for the question of his cue value. I don't see any reason why the value would go down. The solid hit and craftsmanship of the cues he has built has not changed. Who knows though.

I have two of Dave's cues and I have them for sale, but not because he went belly up. I just have about 40 other cues and half of them are for sale also.

His work was outstanding so I don't think prices will go down, maybe up if he doesn't start up later, after he gets straight with his customers. I also have 3 of his 4 and 7 ply shafts and I like them so well, I sold 4 Predator shafts I had because Dave's shaft in my opinion are better. Just my two cents worth.

Yea, I really liked that cue you had for sale, too bad our trade fell through:frown:. Im not doubting his ability as a cuemaker, I was just wondering if his eroding reputation will have any backlash on his cues values, Im not saying his quality is bad, Im just curious about the relationship between his rep and his cues.

After my last mail to Dave, he finally answered :
Iullian, first let me start by telling you I am truly sorry that a nice person like yourself would be involved in this situation. I would like to start by saying I do have every intention (time and money permitting) to reimburse you as well as the handful of others that have unfortunately not gotten their cues. I realize not contacting you does make things more irritating and am sorry for this. I originally thought I would be able to move back cross country and get my old job back making very good money. I would then pay back the remaining customers which you were one. things have went horribly wrong for me to say the least in the last several months. I am in the absolute worst position of my life and can only hope things get better. Once I am back on my feet I will get you every cent of your money. For the record i have the started woods for your cue as i thought I may be able to finish it in arizona. I once again would like to deeply apologize from the bottom of my heart. I will keep in touch and as i said when the situation improves will do all I can to get your money back to you. Thanks Dave P.S. If you would like to share the contents of this email with azb thats fine. I will be contacting the other few people and doing what Im able with them as well. As a side note I have never at anytime ever wanted to swindle anyone I have done probably 200 or so good deals on azb and elsewhere the last thing i wanted to do was ruin my rep ans have a mess like this. The economy has taken a tole on my life and I will rebuild Dave
 
worthless reply in my opinion

Any reply like this after what has taken place is expected so dont read to far in to it. If this was any other type of buisness this type of crap wouldnt be stood for. For some reason because many of us are freinds with many of the different cue makers we give them much more sympothy from situations then they deserve. I think that is very unfortunate because cue makers do an will take advantge of that fact.

Am i saying that we should have no compassion for our fellow cue makers? No im not, but this stuff comes up so often now that as buyers we have to change the way we interact with them buisness wise so these horror stories stop happening to so many of our freinds.

Everyone one in this world has problems, but each of us choose how we deal with those problems.

I needed to vent...

I bought this cue in Oct 07 from Iowa_Player (Larry).

I was hoping to complete my set (PH Player and Jumper) with the Breaker above. I had Larry ship the above to Dave for a refinish job and ordered a PH Shaft. It never made it to me. The cue above is now owned by poolpunk. :eek:

My current Player and Jumper... Would have been one complete happy family, but it was never meant to be. :frown:

I'm still looking for another cue ordered in Oct '07, which was done around Mar '08. I only ever saw the picture of it. I can just guess, it's been sold to someone as well. That is one lovely cue. I'll post the pix when I find the new owner. ;)

BVal has my other Albrecht Cue (BEM with Cork wrap[Butt only]), which Dave sold to him. He offered send it my way and all I needed to do was pay for shipping. I declined. You're the man BVal. :thumbup:

Pix shows how it will look with a Leather Wrap and I choose Cork instead. Never saw it after, not until BVal sent me the pix.

In Mar '08, I have paid Dave in full for various Woods and Joint Protectors, Tips, Cue Case, Shafts (OB1 and Dave's PH Splice shafts) and Shipping Cost for all the items to be shipped.

All these stuff above are paid for in full, which is over 2Gs in total. I have all records in my Paypal Account.

Sorry, I just needed to vent this out. I've been keeping it for so long. This is not the only one, there are more of these story. My personal experience. :frown:

This is why I'm very hesistant now to even pay for a deposit.

So the man didn't even speak with you Jhun, has sold your cue to Bval, took 2k from you...... I see he didn't kept his word that he will contact you or other clients to explain the situation.
 
I had no clue about the cue I bought from Dave until Jhun sent me a PM stating everything that Dave owes him. When I saw it on the list I was sick to my stomach. I sent Jhun some pics and he confirmed it was supposed to be his. I immediately offered to send it to him and he told me to keep it. I am still sick to my stomach hearing about all this stuff. I have not heard anything from Dave since I called him and told him (again) to call everyone who is owed and tell them what is up. I am sorry guys.

Man Blowfish, I gotta give it to ya, you are handling this way better than I would. Due to the statute of limitations, I still cant say what I have done for far less money than you got screwed out of;). Keep it cool man, Karma is a real muthafukka, and Im sure those that steal and cheat will get whats coming to them, sooner or later.

Rep to you and BlowFish. You guys are all class. Its shitty how it all went down, but there is a small amount of good to come from this, and that is the fact that you and BlowFish have shown that you men of your word, and know how to treat people. The fact that you are still sick to your stomach tells me that you have a pretty good sense of right and wrong, which is pretty rare in todays shitty world. Thanks for renewing my faith in humanity fellas.
