Southern Cue And Case Show

Something very special was delivered today to be displayed at the show. I know there could be close to a Million Dollars in cues at the show, but this cue made me do a double take. You don't want to miss it.

Will the show continue into Sunday as well?

There were some awesome cues at the meet and greet Friday night. Can't wait to see the rest of the great cues that will be there Saturday.

Is Joe Salazar at the Southern Cue and Case Show? He always has some very nice cues.

James
Yes Joe was there. The show had cues from almost all of the Hall of Fame makers. Sales seemed a little slow for most people there, but the cues on display would knock your socks off. For a first year event it was a great show. I have never seen so many George Balabushka cues.

Have to agree there were some great looking cues at the show and some very nice people ... And some great pool being played I was there yesterday and today and it looked to be a big success ... I took my son and a friend of his and we had a great time.... Thanks to Johnny and Kim and all the people that put such a big effort into bringing this to Georgia.

It was kind of funny up there seeing Jack Flanagan walking around with his name tag on and right under his name the word (Banned) ....lol... Talked to Chris Byrne a little while up there ... He had some beautiful cues up there and was really a pretty cool guy who seemed a little modest ... If I did work like that I think, I would be bragging it up but of course there were some pretty big names in attendance ...

Diekman was pretty comical ... Szamboti was in attendance as the pictures show ... One guy I had been told wrong about and got the wrong impression about was Dennis Searing .... He was there and he was as nice as could be his wife was with him ... My sons friend went up to him and Szamboti and asked for autographs ... Not only did they give them kindly but Dennis handed his book "To another person to get a autograph for him" (Szamboti) lol... While Dennis's wife talked to my sons friend telling him not to be so shy and how he has made Searings day by asking for his autograph. It was a great day ... Cue sales seems a little slow but I think that was more a sign of the times instead of having anything to do with the show or sellers. There were alot of great people there... Chris Hightower had some nivce stuff in there and almost every cue from any cue maker imaginable was at the show...

Not to mention getting to talk to players like Varner, Archer , Larry Nevil , John Schmidt , The Rocket Morris, Davenport , Steve Moore , Chris Bartram and several more... I kind of wanted to talk to Strickland but he only showed up when it was his turn to play or to practice and when he was done he left ... I watched him play his first round game was not sure who he was playing but he lost the round ... Slapped his cue against the rail of the table and was gone ...

I really hope they continue to build on this show I will be attendance every year possible it was really nice ... The Marietta club was really nice it looked like a Old Walmart or Winn Dixie from the outside . But inside where to large pool rooms in the back the Scorpian room with several of Archers trophies and many many auotgraphed pics of all the players it has a good sized bar along the wall ... The main room also had a big bar that ran most of the length of the pool room done up very nice with Big screen tv's and it kind of looked like a Applebe's or something in style ... All the tables were 9 footers except one bar box I saw by the front door. they had a pro shop and you could find most anything you wanted in there. Very nice club done up well by Johnny and Kim and it was a great time with a great show done up well.

I must have missed the pics of Barry, didn't see 'em in any of the threads, didn't know he was there. I did see Phil Windham in one of the pics, I believe.

Barry is home in Pa he didnt go to Ga, that's the bad news, the good news he is comming to Vegas!!!!!! In other news.....I'm in LA and have to go to Vegas to meet up with him later this week.

I wished I could have made it to the show and met up with everyone, I spoke to JA a couple days ago he was excited, it will be a annual deal from my understanding, I bet it will get some legs under it and be the next big thing for pool during the summer, there isnt much else going on.

best

Thank's Rik for an awesome show!!

Most excellent time at the Gem City Classic.

Thanks to Rik for making this possible and he did a awesome job...everything ran like clock work.

Imagine having a tournamanet with some of the best players in the world and a cue show all in one location.....that's exactly what happened. Johnny and Kim have a beautiful room.

There were a few trouble makers there...ScottR,Lilttle Ken,John, Dennis,BBQ Bob etc if was difficult to keep them under control but we managed.;)

There were some awesome cues..Searing's,Showman's,Szamboti's,Nitti,Balabushka's,Doc Fry,White,Dieckman etc. Jack Justis and Ron Thomas with some beautiful cases.
Dick Abbott and Little Ken and Rik had some incredible cues on display.

Cornerstone and Cueaddict's, Joe Salazar stopped by.

All I can say is Rik you are the man!!!!
And we can't forget the adorable Miranda behind the bar.

Long live the Gem City Classic and Cue Show.

Rik thank's for the dinner and The Pavlos for the drink's.

Until that time,

Big Daddy
