Corey Deuel Shot vs Hatch (Low Left)

... and it turns to right spin.

This is the second comment about the spin turning to right spin, this is not the case so I thought I'd try to clear this up. In this case, the cue ball always has left spin until it's used up, it never changes direction. It has left when it leaves the cue, left when it hits the 1st rail (reverse), and left when it hits the 2nd rail, but now it's running english because of the direction...but it's always left .

Very good info in this thread, good stuff.

left

Its left english. The english takes on the second rail more then the first rail.

Never seen it work with a ball that far off the rail,he must have a great stroke.

This might be one of those shots that works on a Diamond but not on a GC.

Here let me help you in illustrating what you are trying to say

Patrick Johnson mentioned this earlier too. Here's a better way of putting it:

It has the same effect as drawing the cueball towards the rail with left on a shot . Once it hits the rail, it takes off to the right.

CueTable Help

Yea Imagine that same effect. Only in Corey's shot, whave everyone is trying to say is, when you hit the first rail, the spin doesn't take into effect yet. The CB just get's kicked to the second rail. Once it hits the second rail, it does the same effect as the diagram above.

So yea what the other guys are saying, the spin doesn't really "reverse" after contact with the first rail.

now if only I could really get it to work..

So is it commonly believed that Corey is the second most creative pool player after Efren? Who is 3rd?

If those that commonly believe follow Cory around for a while they might change their rankings.... When he's on it and in pool mode Efren is #2. IMO, he's the most gifted player to ever hold a cue.

Donny tell Cory that I said to give up golf the next few months, get dead in punch and show everyone what I'm talking about..... He won't do it but tell him anyway. Then tell him again.... LOL

you need a bit of draw and alot of left. hit it hard and stroke it well. My friend showed me this shot from this match actually and i managed to do it on the first attempt. not as hard as it looks.

I love watching Efren shoot this shot because with his stroke you never see it coming until it hits the rail and takes off. Corey and Rodney both look like they are hitting low inside at least.

I've seen several versions of this 'shot' and i have never been able to pull off any version. Not even close. Sad, very sad.

Don't feel bad... I think I've only used this shot once in the last 5 years in a match etc. You don't need that shot to play good.

CB obviously had left english on it when it came off the second rail in order to get down for the 5 ball. Low left makes sense to me but having Corey's stroke helps too LOL.

Super hard shot... did it a few times. Definately low-left.
