I agree!!! This was uncalled for.
Comments like this are incredibly insulting to a man who's comedic acting entertained many an adoring fan for decades!
Jim Varney was a talented man who did what he did quite well and thus, brought a smile to many faces. Kevin Varney is, well... the opposite of that.
Kevin Varney is an urban myth.
Apparently he's like a apparition - nobody can actually see or talk to him - until an unsuspecting newbie offers up some cash.
Then he swoops in out of nowhere, scoops up the cashola, then re-disappears, usually for months at a time.
I didn't believe he actually existed, but I know many people who swears he took their money only to vanish into thin air again.
Could a ghost do that? Can those "on the other side" really interact with our world and take our money?

Let's be honest. KV does take a bit longer to make cues then he says. But what cue maker doesn't. I was quoted 2 weeks to do a refinish from one of the best cue makers in the USA. That was 2 months ago.
KV did take longer to make a cue for me years ago but it turned out to be a nice cue. I did however sell it.
I can't say anything about taking money and never providing a cue. I sure hope that has never happened to anyone here.

I can attest that he is a real person. I have seen him wearing his "Shoot with a Varney or get beat by one" t-shirt on multiple occasions. Most of those occasions resulted in watching him lose... Guess he's been playing with a CueTec?!?!?!?!

There is currently a thread on the first or 2nd page from a gentleman who ordered a cue (paid in full) two yrs ago. A few months ago (after still not having the cue) he said "just give me my money back" to which KV told him that he couldn't. KV said he would sell the cue and then give the guy his money back. KV sold the cue on here a couple of months ago and is nowhere to be found. We're not talking a couple of months late, we're talking upwards of a yr and then over two yrs depending on the person.
Most of the KV stuff you see on here isn't about the quality of his cues, its about his lack of customer service and thievery. KV threatend violence to one guy that was complaining about not having his cue or money back in well over 6 months past the promised delivery date. That thread was conveniently deleted as were a lot of others. Its not the cues, its the person. He is not a nice or honest man. If you got your cue, especially in a relatively acceptable time frame then you were one of the few lucky ones. I suggest you do a search on KV threads in case you ever consider ordering from him again.
There are a bunch of cue makers on here who provide a great product and service to customers. I am unsure why people continue to give business to those who do not.

You got hosed by KV then again by your best cue maker in the USA. Maybe you and a few othjers that have had bad experiences should do some homework before asking a cue maker to do any work for you.
Fact is you got lucky that you even got a cue from KV much less getting it late.
Part of the problem is some people go for the low price instead of the quality and customer service.
You want decent work? You want good customer service? You want good communication? You want to be able to find the guy if he bails on you? Go with the guy that has a web site in place first. Mail your deposit so you at least have an address. Get a phone number and email. Dont be afraid to ask for references.
I cant think of a reputable cue maker that isnt willing to make all that available.
All this crying after the fact really gets boring to the cue makers that want the business and are willing to do the right thing.
Give it up folks. KV has spent your money and you aint gettin it back.
