New ferrule on Predator

Longer and better ferrule?... Well it can definitely be changed to any length and material you would like. There was a 314 recently up for sale here with an ivory ferrule. Whether or not it is better is entirely subjective, so there's only one way to really find out...

varney used to change predator ferrules on here for people. i'm sure most if not all the cue makers on here could do the same for you
If you don't mind the warranty being voided and the hit changing then most any quality repairman can do it.
I have changed the short 314-2 factory ferrule that cracked on my personal shaft to the same length of Masonh's new yellow micarta ferrule and there is a difference, and it is all good. I'm being honest and just ordered more material from him to replace my other predator ferrules and the light brown grayish color looks cool.--Leonard
WOW this is stinking crazy i was out on a mission today and a crazy thought came to mind about having an ivory ferrule on a predator fat shaft.
Then bam i see this thread so now i want to get a fat shaft and have the ferrule re-placed with an ivory ferrule. My only issue is that im leaving Iraq in about 13 days. So what i want to do is order the shaft and have it sent to the person who might be able to do is.
I will need for that person to hold on to the shaft untill i get back into Alaska and mail to me say mid sept.

ive done a few ivory ferruled predators. i think the change is good
I was thinking Mike bender but my orders just came thru a few hours ago and the second i get back to AK im pretty much will be getting right back on a plane to my next duty station in Korea. But i should have time to do it when i go on PCS Leave.
My question is why would any sane human being waste their money buying an expensive, low deflection premium shaft and then change the ferrule out so that it deflects the same as any other standard shaft? Do you all just like the Predator decal or are you mad at your money?

Nobody is a 100% sure that changing out the ferrule with down grade the fat shaft to a standard shaft. These are things one has to find out on there own. I for one dont really care for Ld shafts i love the hit for my shafts that came with my cue.
And maybe a harder ferrule with void out the spongienss they have and what if it changes the hit for the better ? No one is really going to know untill they pay to find out and i want to find out so im going to pay to see if i dont like it no big deal.
I change the ferrule on a predator shaft to Ivory because I did'nt like the sound it made. Since I was only trying it out to see exactly what everybody else was talking about., and I have about 7 shafts for my personal cue it didn't really matter if it got ruined. Well, it rates among the worst of my experiments.
