Do you like old chalk or new chalk? I have seen many threads about what brand and what color. So do you like a brand new piece, a worn out piece, or somewhere in the middle?
 
I like it when it's just barely new. Don't like chalk with a big crater. I'm very fussy about keeping my ferule clean. Is there really any other color besides blue?

that's a great point... I think that's why I also like new or barely new chalk. After the chalk is used up, I bring my old ones to my local bar becuase the have walmart chalk:mad:

I saw a "what's in the bag" with Johnny Archer and he said he like old chalk:confused:

I agree w/ OTB, tan is the way to go. If you want your equipment to stay un-stained, use tan. I will never understand the myth about blue chalk
 
DRY.

i know of a player who has been known to spit in the chalk when done shooting
 
I like mine worn out stepped on moist with extra spit. But no i really like putting a crater in my chalk .
 
I like to put chalk in my belly button and chalk from there. Saves time having to reach to my pocket for it. Most of all the fans love it :)
 
I don't care at all the age of my chalk, but I sure do care about composition, moisture content, and accessibility (e.g. the infamous drilling for oil cavities that make it tough as shi* to brush chalk on your tip).

As long as it's: Master, Triangle, or Blue Diamond I'm cool. Any other stuff is highly suspect.
