Bear cues

Bear Cue

I have a Bear Custom Cue, made by the company that sponsored Bustamante and produced for sale in Germany. Maybe somebody knows more about them. I believe they were made by Falcon early on. Excellent quality, mine is unplayed and in my personal collection.

I have a Mark Bear full splice blank being made into a not-so-sneaky-pete by Joe Callaluca. Mark's full splices are recognized to be among the best available and he makes pretty sweet finished cues, too.

That is exactly what I was interested in. A cue just like busti plays. I always wondered about them and in my mind, I guess I imagine they are similar to Schon cues.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get your cue from overseas? I assume the cue is an older one? Can you tell me how I can get my hands on one?

Thanks

" He makes full-splice blanks...
I will get the name of the company that sells them and post it right here for You

You can find Bear cues in Europe.
Nothing custom about them....good solid production cues, that's it.
You can see them or get one here

They used to be made by Falcon, I don't know if they are still made in the Chinese Falcon company.
Back when they were made in Canada they were good and solid just like the Falcon cues and the Predator butts that Falcon used to make.

I have tried cues from both brands and I believe schon's hit is pretty stiffer. I have always wondered how it is possible such a company that invests money in advertisement in tournaments not to have web site where you can find some info. Many european players play with bear cues .

Bear

Will post a picture or two here when I get a chance. Mine was made in Canada, one of the original early models, very nice. If I sold it I would need about $500 plus $50 overseas shipping. Let me know if interested.

I've been wondering the same thing. If Bustamante is still sponsored by Bear Cues, I wonder if he's playing the newer line of cues. I think I spotted the one he was using in the Open last year. The main thing I am wondering is why Bustamante has used that line of cues for all this time when he could've gone with a much nicer, custom cue.

I have always wanted to try one of those out, and I have seen that dynamic website, but paying in euro's are beyond my language.

I was hoping to find one of those cues here on AZ.

Thanks to everyone who's helped so far.

Bear Cases

Did this company also make the custom cases with the bear stamped on the bottom of the case? I bought one of these a while back and haven't found information on the maker. Maybe Mr. Barton will know.

Right On!

SwissChris is correct, they pretty much copied the old Joss cue, how could they go wrong. The older cues that were made in Canada were only offered here for a short time and are no longer available on the retail market. Pictures coming later today.

I've owned two Bear cues and I think they played a little bit better in the 90s. Good cues for the money, but still nothing special compared to other well-known production cues such as Schon or Joss. I still liked the way they hit, not so stiff as Schons but a little bit more lively than Joss cues. They have a new line of cues and I've tried a few but the quality varies a bit. Like with Schons, you can find a really good hitting cue among them.

Bear Pic

Here is a picture of a Buste. Bear. This is the early model made in Canada, Falcon shop and exported to Germany. Let me know if interested in this one. This cue is new, never played.

So, all in all, a Bear cue is a Falcon cue. Buddy told me that once, but I never know what to believe with him. I do like the looks of it, but I just got new cue. I would have to wait a short while before I could get another one, or the wife will kick me out. Please PM me price and specs. Thanks.

PM Sent

For anyone else interested spec's are 13.1 mm and weight is 20.2 oz. I believe cue has a weight bolt, have not checked. Price is $500.

Certificate

This cue comes with a certificate of authenticity that explains the cue was made in North America for export to the European market and it is an authentic Bear Custom Cue. Thought this might be of interest to any potential buyer. This certificate and the original hang tag will be shipped with the cue.
