Anyone compare these two shafts, or cues...the Cuetec R360 is sooooo cheap... I can't expect it to perform like a 314 or Mezz's Wd700 or am I wrong?

ok

well cheap is not a good word ! inexpensive is better , or thrifty. but

anyway i have been using a predator cuestick (1998 #98-6) for almost 10

years. now after i seen shane destroy frosty i had to try one. now they

have there own thread size so i just bought a whole stick. let me tell you

that my predator is collecting dust now because the cuetec r360 hits

sweet. no kidding sweet ! better than predator even. thats my story and

i'm sticking to it.

That's a bold statement 'zilla. I have a Predator, and it's my go-to shaft when I want 100% confidence in my hit.

On the other hand, I have a Cuetec (older one, pre SST) that is super consistent and plays great.

Might have to look at the R360 myself.

I don't suppose they make any joint but the 3/8 x 14 for their own cues?

Wow that's a bold statement! post up a few pics and a review for us. i dig LD shafts and so far my favorite is the WD700. if cuetec finally made a decent product i'd like to hear more about it

just me being me i'd recommend you go with the wd700 or the 314 (pre factory move to china)

it's tried and true

Sorry if I've asked you already, have you tried the Mezz Hybrid Pro 2 ( 12.50mm, parabolic taper ) and if so, how did it play? It's supposed to be the lowest deflection out of the three Mezz shafts.

i've never played with a hp2. i had an hp1 that i liked but i'm not sure i'd say it was low deflection

How about the new Predator Fat Shaft... I'm leaning toward that shaft...

ahhhh

[Apocalypse2012;1995230]Who has the lowest price on the R360?

probably pooldawg or ozone !

last time i looked top of the line was 240 with soft case or tip tool.

maybe free shipping too !

That is the shaft that I'm currently using. I loved the 314-2 shafts but wanted something that performed just about the same but a tad stiffer. I find the Fat Shaft to be almost the exact taper of the standard 314-2 but the stiffness comes from the 13.20mm diameter. Before I purchased the Fatty I was told that the taper was close to the BK2 shaft but I don't think that's the case, maybe the early prototypes.
I find that the Fat Shaft does have a bit more deflection but definitely lower the a standard cue. The Predator website states that the accuracy advantage ( low deflection ) is 35% for the 314-2 and 30% for the Fat, so it is close performace wise, however the Z-2 comes in at 51% :O
I can move the cueball around pretty well but find I have to put a bit more into my stroke to get to the same places as with a 314-2.
I feel that I don't necessarily need a large diameter but a combination of taper. I'm thinking about modifying a BK2 shaft into a player, it has a 12.75mm diameter but a stiff taper, hopefully the modifications would lower the deflection even more! My goal is o have the lowest deflecting shaft with a stiff taper and nothing under 12.50mm diameter.
Hope that gives you some needed info regarding the Fat Shaft

.

In an interview with SVB that they were selling the R360 for $150?? Will they be making shafts with different pin types? How hard is it to get used to a 314-2? I'm thinking of going with an 314-2 shaft or just buy a R360 cue for the same price.

yup, thats where i was at. having a 10 year old predator that had ferrulle replaced twice i just did not have the confidence any more in it.
so i tried the cuetec r360 having seen svb destroy frosty. i figured i would have the entire cue to sell if i did not like it. but i do like it very much and last night i ordered an screw in the butt extension on ebay for 14.90 shipped. i;m a little vertically challenged so that will help me reach more shots in stead of using the bridge.
