Again Thanks Bill Smith. I wonder how many viewers know or remember you writting article for Billiard Digest in the eighty and ninety? I believe I might even have a few clipping of your articles in one of my binder.

Awesome. I think a great inclusion would be diagrams of contact points on ball-first hits like I have seen elsewhere. I will try to dig up a pic when I have more time, unless someone else is so motivated...:fingerscrossed:
Looks interesting. Think I'll have to get it. I think I'm at the point where I don't just figure the point, I think position, as well. It's weird, you spend a long time figuring out just how to make the point, and then when you start figuring position, you almost have to start again. You start missing all over again because you're thinking of the next shot instead of the one at hand. Basic position isn't that hard, but I've screwed myself so many times, like you say, 'getting stuck behind the ball with no shot'
When I teach students, even beginners, I teach the proper concept from the very beginning, so there is no 2 steps back to go one forward. And players that already play at a level of lets say 5.00 -7.50, I can insert the correct approach to certain shots to elevate thier game to over 8.00.
Are you still here in the Chicago area? Just curious if you teach beginners 3C around here. I seem to remember you playing at Chris's. Thanks.

I'm sure you do. I think I have to overcome a few bad habits in my game, which I'm working on now. If I had easy access to good teachers, I wouldn't have had them. I had some bad advice on pool early on, too. It's Ok, though, I'm not going to be a world champion, I just like playing the game. In a certain way, I look forward to it, it's a new challenge. I'd like to see the book, I have the Robin position book, from what I've seen here, it's like that but with more discussion of each shot. The thing missing from the Robin book is discussion of why this shot and why not that, and the possible end results of either.

If it's not too late, please make the diagrams more accurate. The balls should be to scale and the line showing the path of the cue ball should show where its center goes. It looks like the diagrams shown in the BD articles have both of those points wrong.
