that might be from their website......but....I don't think it is a correct representation of the over all picture..

Which is why the survey is garbage. I own a Homer Simpson cue, but I wouldn't admit it...oops.

Hehe......I don't think it's garbage, it is simply a survey. The largest portion of people who responded own a McDermott (sounds right). Just as you probably don't like to admit to the Simpson cue there are probably people who got one of these brands as a starter cue. The survey info is simply to give potential buyers some idea of what is popular with others. I've seen similar surveys on other sites before. The percentages may vary slightly but the brands don't vary much.

Wow, blast from the past on this one. Let me see if I can clarify all of this.

A couple years ago, we were wondering what brands our users currently owned. I put together a simple survey listing a bunch of brands (some we carry, some we don't) and sent it out to our list. Because pretty much every pool player I know owns more than one cue so we allowed customers to select more than one brand (hence the more than 100% issue).

The survey was not scientific in nature and not meant to generate a conclusive "XYZ Cue is #1". Rather it was just a "this is kind of interesting so I thought I'd share" type of situation. Keep in mind that our customers may vary from some of the other ecommerce billiards stores, so this is just a representation of what our customers like when it comes to pool cues, not a statement that all pool players prefer one brand over another.

As for the quality of the results, I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call it "garbage" however the value of the results may vary from reader to reader and everyone is very welcome to their opinions both positive and negative.

Hope this clears everything up.

Like your job title

Mike,

I like your job title. When folks are making me fill it out for no good reason on forms I occasionally list LHMAIS or LHMOAIS, meaning Lord High Master of All I Survey! I'll believe it if they will. Chief cook and bottle washer is usually more accurate.
