A friend of mine just purchased a franchise (his county) from the American Three-Ball Association. It's a new tournament league for three-ball players. It looks pretty cool if you're into three ball. They say they pay cash on their web site and they have a national tournament.

A friend of mine loves to play 3-ball and was wondering where he could participate in these events. More details would be appreciated! Just wanting to know if it is the same 3-ball that is played with the rack being 1-ball on the spot followed by 2-balls in back racked like a triangle?

ante up a buck, everybody breaks 3 balls and runs out. if tied, ante up again, break, run out til someone is clear winner?

Thats the way we play it, not sure if it is league worthy. But it is a fun group game. More info Mr. Franchise Guy...

the way I have always played is the dollar bills are placed on the table anywhere you chose.. and if any ball stops on a bill while you are shooting you put another dollar on the table.. low tie all tie..
makes for a fun evening especially against closely matched players.. though it can get expensive..
Haven't played it, but assuming you don't have to make a ball on the snap this game sound made for the soft break.
It is apparent that you have not played; 4 will never win (break then 3 shots). The goal of the game is to make at least one, hopefully 2, on the break so that you can win with a (2) or a (3).
Soft break and run will almost always be a tie, at best, or a loss.

we played that a few times a week up in tulsa when the old palace was open. they had an ACE pot that built every week, and dude it was always BIG. I saw one guy make all three and take home $6,000. Then another time (about 4 years ago I'd say) which was the BOMB I might add the pot was right at or above 10,000. They decided the pot MUST GO.
So whomever entered into the tournament that night would stay in it untill the pot was one. You could not miss your turn, and you could not get in once it was underway. We had well over 200 people there at the drop of a hat brother. Gabe came back to town for it! He did TERRIBLE never made balls on the break, (gabesmom) you might get a kick out of this. He might have MAYBE made a few balls on the break all night...he gets up there and says "Hey come on don't you guys know 3 ball is my best game" just LMFAO, it was me gabe, jess copin, andy freedhoffman and old John Chen...cool guy always wears knee high socks w/holes in em. He managed the place and we always gave him hell about it. Andy belts out, john i snap it off were getting you some socks and I'm buying" Anyways I think some 6 speed ended up getting her done. BUT many of us got close, and you should have seen the people s**ting on themselves just whole crouds getting pumped. We did that for like a day and a half or something, that was a good time.
