im from richmond but travel up to DC and NO VA alot.... there are alot of good players if the money is right... Brandon Shuff at first break in sterling... Matt Clatterbuck in winchester.. alot of good players. u just gotta know where to go.

I know Bobby Chamberlian but he's WAY too strong for me to gamble with. Im really not that much into gambling side of pool. Im just looking for good people to play with that alls

Hit me up

Hey, my name is Jhonny. I mostly play at First Break in Sterling but I do "weekly rounds" to poolhalls all over Northern VA. Sunday-Bridges in Fairfax. Monday-First Break. Tuesday-Qball or Breakers or First Break. Wednesday-Cue Club or First Break. Thursday-Fast Eddies Fairfax. Friday and Saturdays are open nights. I also am a frequent visitor of Champions in Shirlington. Hit me up. I know a few places where I play pool for free . You can go to any of these poolhalls and ask any of the employees if I'm there, everyone kinda knows me .

I'm in the NoVA area, play league 4 nights a week at various places (Sunday/Monday 9ball, Tuesday/Wednesday 8ball), and I usually get in a practice night on Friday or Saturday. Fast Eddies in Springfield is a good spot for some good players, and I've also been told that Champions has some good players.

All that is fine and good, but you didn't say how good you play or how much money you carry.

YOu should probably post your pic up too:wink:

Where do you play and what's your speed (I figure since you're not that into gambling you won't mind answering that one)?

What Johnny says is true; everyone knows him and he can't beat anyone, so they won't have any problem directing you to him.

If you come out to First Break in Sterling (a bit of a haul from the district) for the Thursday night tournament (hey, that's tonight!), you'll find a wide range of players, from players I'm sure you can beat to players I'm sure you can't. If you can't find friendly competition at the right level in that room, you're unlikely to have any luck anywhere you go.

Come on out if you can. $20 entry, double elimination, 8:00 start (although it's been more like 8:30 lately). If you're good you stand a decent chance of making the money, if you're not then you don't, but it's only $20. If you come out, introduce yourself. I'm 28, 6'2", light brown hair, and a beard, and I answer to "Andrew"

I play like a blind dog with a drinking problem, and I carry about $30 into the pool room, $20 of which I pay to enter the tournament.

what is the place to visit in washington DC ?

Buffalo Billiards but its more like a Jillians chain

Im an 8 or 9 in APA is that gives you any idea of how well i play or my speed. I was rank Top 100 in the Bay Area in 2003 but im being modest here

Thanks for all the respones. Im gonna save this thread and get back to everyone later. Ive been out of work for nearly a month now so playing pool is out of the question.

Im suppose to be playing on a leauge team at the Fast Eddie's off of route 1 on Monday nights. Again the problem is finding work!!!

To add to the jobless comment (shameless plug) Im a mixologist / Professional Bartender (i can make ANY drink in the world!!!) and a fanstatic DJ so if any of you guys have any pull in this field PLEASE let know!!!

Oh.....A job at a poolhall would be lovely :thumbup2:

Are you talking about the San Francisco bay area? Where were those rankings and who ranked them? I ask because I have spent a lot of time out there and never knew they had a ranking system.

Yeah the SF area. They have the USPPA pool rating system. The lowest you can be ranked is a 25. The Highest ranking ive ever seen was when Corey Duel and Nick Varner played in the tournament. They where both ranked at 185!!!!!

If you were ranked 100+ you are considered a Professional calibar player. Out of 64 players 40 players were 100+!!!! I was ranked a 65 and all the players use to scream about it. Reason being was i played like a 100+ but i never won a tournament in the 3 years i lived there so my rating never moved up. I placed 2nd and 3rd out of COUNTLESS tournaments. I did however beat BILLY PALMER in a open once. Race to 5 alt breaks......I won 5-4 but in that match everytime i got to the table i either ran out of lock him up tighter than a bull's ass and i BARELY won 5-4

I never won a tournament in SF but i will always have that trophy of beating Billy Palmer even up. Not many can say that :thumbup2:

I personally think you'll find better players at Bedrock in Adams Morgan or Atomic in Cleveland Park...and I'll take Camelot over the Royal Palace ;)
