I'm at the US Open 9-ball tourney right now, so I wanted to report on my discussion with Efren Reyes on snooker. I'm trying really hard to stay away from the Ronnie thread, since it's degenerated from the initial question raised by Pink. This thread is not meant to be a snooker vs. pool debate. It's only a "Efren and snooker" thread. Hopefully, this answers and confirms any questions or rumors on Efren's snooker play.
Fred: How often do you play snooker?
Efren: Never
F: Are there snooker tables in the Philippines?
E: No. I don't know. I don't play. Manalo plays. I don't
F: Why not?
E: I don't like the snooker.
F: Why not?
E: I don't know.
F: I heard you played against Jimmy White and Ronnie O'Sullivan some snooker
E: I didn't play Jimmy snooker. We played regular pool. 9-ball... I play Ronnie snooker. He gave me 25 points. We played for 500 or 1000.
F: Race to what? Five?
E: Per game. 500 or 1000 per game.
F: Dollars or pounds?
E: No. Whatever Bankok money is.
(ED: someone give the conversion. this could be 20 cents for all I know).
(ED2: I checked. 12 to 24 USD. LOL!!! Okay, they weren't playing for anything)
F: Did you win?
E: (Big smile... cocked head... no answer)
F: Did you have any centuries
E: Yes. I don't know how many.In the tournament they gave me an award (he points to his wrist) for fastest century .
(I didn't press this, since it answered my question, but I had no idea what "fastest" meant. I assumed he meant "first of the tournament)
F: How did you do in the tournament? Did you win?
E: I left early. There was no money. Only awards.
At this point, I was a little surprised, but in retrospect, I'm speculating that he and his backers thought there was prize money. But, it's still a surprise that he would start a tournament and then leave.
F: Did you ever consider playing snooker full time since there's more money in it?
E: No. I don't like the snooker (he shakes his head). And the snooker players, I can't beat them.

I know some will point to only a couple of points in all of this, so I highlighted them as important.
