Honestly Dave, I have no Idea, but what I do know is that it looks
very nice. I like it alot. Could it be you?

It would not surprise me if it was you Dave. I will say this that I really like your work, traditional with the thick silver rings and all. Perhaps down the road I will own one of your cues. How do you feel they play?

thanks lenny. They play awesome. Szamboti specs. Cant go wrong there.

This is not one of mine tho...

In the email from jerry he stated he is keeping this for himself. All the next blanks will be numbered. He has about 5 on order now. It will take about a month or so to do each fs cue. So get your order in now gentlemen while the wait is short

The cue is a Rauenzahn

Jerry just got off the phone with me. He is very proud of his latest work.
He should be too!
And Chris: Jerry Rauenzahn 814-723-8322
Nick :)

Full Splice

When I saw this thread I figured it was you but I guess it's a Jerry -R-

The cue has play me written all over it

This must be your 50th Jerry cue...congrats

Lol. Not mine Ted . Jerry will be keeping this. I'm in the 30's with Jerry but I'm focused on only making and buying equiptment not cues. I passed on a few nice cues I've wanted recently. Gotta stay focused. Eye on the prize.

I'm no where good enough to be making full splices yet. But thanks for the compliments. I've been considering taking a shot at it. Actually posted that a few days ago but as good as this think looks mie would only be a disappointment

-R- full spliced cues

Jerry Rauenzahn -R- told me tonight these full spliced cues are signed and numbered. The one you see here is #1 for his wife. He will only make one a month or less, no more. I'm sure he will be back logged very quickly.

He mentioned he is researching how the old turn of the century cues were made with sharp points on both the lower and upper joints. When he gets this figured out I'm sure the prices will go up accordingly.

Who sells a full spliced blank with perfect points on both ends??? When this happens he'll be in a very select group from this era of builders.

John

I know Travis Niklich was putting out full splices w/ sharp both ways, I own 2 of them, but I think he used a veneer to get the "down" sharp point(correct me if I'm wrong Travis). Travis' cues are excellent, my player is one of them. Can't wait to see if Jerry can master the old school method, I definitely will be in the market for one!! His cues are always tight!! :)

By the way, John. I love those butterfly conversions you have shown by Jerry, I wish you would sell a few! :)

Jerry's Cues

A friend of mine showed me a Jerry cue he picked up in a trade, he said "who's this Dave Sutton"
Your name was on the Hoppe ring.

This Hoppe reminds me of one of my Runde's except the Runde doesn't have veneers.
I'm sure it'll be a great cue to play with.
I have a full splice Davis-Jerry cue that is really a good player.
I can't say enough about his shafts, especially with ivory ferrules...just my preference.

yes jerry made me that cue a loong time ago. maybe 5-6 years. its an exact copy as a szamboti. i did the name on a label maker that i later gave to jerry. that leather wrap was prob the 2nd leather wrap i ever did... i think i made that shaft too. it played great. i dont know what he paid for it but if he wants to sell it back to me contact me. price has to be right tho
