That's right, I'm backing JoeyA at the Big Easy event this weekend.
I went over to the Big Easy to meet with a couple friends from out of town. JoeyA was there and with a little coercive help from BigTruck I was able to pry the twenty out of him that he had been owing me for months. I didn't make it across the room with the twenty, it never even made it past my T-Shirt pocket, before I lost it to someone else. Hard to come by, still easy go! Oh well, I was still even with where I came in the door.
I eased over to the bar for something cool and another look at a bodacious looking little brunette barmaid and found myself alongside JoeyA. Things get a little confusing from there. Joey is offering to buy me a sandwich, a beer, a coke, whatever while I am still distracted by things behind the bar. In the confusion somehow I seem to have agreed to back Joey for half of his winnings although I have no recollection of that. Fortunately he is a cheap date and I only had to put up a handful of quarters to help see him through this barbox event.
On the way home I stopped for a snack. A homeless man came in the door of the Popeye's and made a bee line towards me, "Will you buy me a piece of chicken Mr.? I'm hungry"
Obviously I have "SUCKER" written in large red letters across my forehead today! Just as soon get the bloodletting over with I'm not going to make it home with a dime in my pocket anyway, I bought him a meal with all the trimmings. A final stop at the Seven Eleven took the last of my folding money and I finally made it home. Unfortunately I'm still supposed to play BigTruck tomorrow. Wonder if he takes IOU's, things aren't looking too promising!
I did say hello to Robley and give him a little coke money.(Coca-Cola!) That means I'm backing JoeyA and Robley. I'm not sure if that is a two horse team or a dog and pony!
I wonder if it is too late to go catch HoumaTroy who I finally met there at the Big Easy and get a piece of the little Arab? I do think that Gary went highest in the Calcutta although I didn't watch all of it. I bid on Jamie Farrell in the Calcutta but somebody outbid my two dollars! Folks get wild in the bidding sometimes.
