Donnie Mills

i guess it's time to be a bad guy AGAIN!?? lol.
i sold cars for several years, i gotta tell ya.......i would have had ALOT MORE time to play pool, if i had OWNED the carlot, as opposed to WORKING there every day. and unless im quite mistaken...Mr.Mills OWNS a carlot. this "working-man" stuff is just SO old. to make sales, i showed up every morning, early, to get the first ups on the lot...and i was the last to leave every night, in case there were stragglers walkin around kickin tires....and never once, was the owner around. he did go to auctions to get used stock, but other than that, he was only stopping in occassionally to make sure he looked like he was checking up on things. lol.
Mr.Mills is a great player, and players don't get that good without alot of play and practice.......alot more than we are led to believe by the "workin' man worshippers". think about it, i mean really.
geeez.

I'll tell em.

Its pretty obvious that you have never owned your own business.

thats funny, cause i heard it was inherited. lol.
im not trying to just knock the guy, he is a great player. (not gonna beat SVB for the cheese though, prolly cause they wont play lol) but this crap is getting old.

im gonna go find someone that wiped their own ass today...and give them a cookie.

lol

I spend my high school years working for a chevy dealership. To put it mildly, the owner stayed very busy. It didnt help that this 16 year old caught two cars on fire, wrecked 5-6 and got "stuck in traffic for 50 min while going to fill up his Vette with gas". :)

Based on a google search, it looks like Donny owns a small car lot... maybe 60 used cars and a building smaller than my two bedroom apartment.

I have no doubt Donny puts in 55/60 hours/week+ of WORK and still finds the time to play.

Based on the little I have talked to him, he is a very hard working guys in all aspects of his life.

I for one envy Mr. Mills.

Nice reply Donny

Not bad... but "I'll tell em" is just the perfect thing to say when someone says something that is very retarded.

Personally, I don't care if the guy had hit the lottery, and does nothing but go hit balls in his private pool room 60 or 70 hours a week, and watches videos when he ain't busy taking private lessons from the top players in the world, he did a great job of playing this year. Not many people will ever place 6th at the Open, let alone come back the next year and get a 3rd.

And just because it looks like the owner don't do nothing, don't mean thats true. There are a lot of behind the scenes things that a owner does. Trust me, I've been self employed for a long time. Not saying all owners, but most.

Ive heard SVB says he can't beat Donny for the cash. Not sure if this was on a barbox or what but I swear I heard that somewhere.Maybe a TAR match?

Don't believe that. Shane can beat anybody, the man is awesome.......

ive known donnie for several years since living in clearwater florida. the lots he inherited were little shi**y used car sales lots. he played out of familys in clearwater, strokers in tampa and fatsos. he played in the us open and finished in the top 20 and used to play with ray martin out of players. my brother and donny used to practise toghether at familys on the tough table. this man can play with any player on earth. good luck donnie kick them in the a**

Oh, I just saw this today. Well Brandon, I'm not wiping Donny's ass.. in fact, when I first read his posts, I thought "who is this guy calling everyone out, but not going anywhere", and didn't think I would like him. But for him to actually back up his statements with his good play, and the down to earth nature in his pre match interview- How can you not like this guy? He's got an opportunity to play as much and more than most people I'm sure, but that's what it takes. When I said "working man", it's because your mind never leaves work when you're at home. I've been a business owner for almost 10 years now, and I'll tell you what.. You don't know what you are talking about. Sorry to be so rude. I'll give you a cookie.

Thank you and you sound like you mean well. But I can't listen to one more word of people saying that I "inherited a business" that is not even close to true! I started with nothing when I was 19 years old, and there are about 8 people on this earth that would look at you like you are nuts if you ever said "donny inherited a business"

Wow! I guess the next rumor will be that I inherited my pool game.

When no tournaments are near I only play maybe 5 or 6 hours a week. When a good tourney etc. is around the corner I'll practice 15 or 20 hours a week.

Donny I look forward to meeting you at the TAR event. You played great at the US Open and I watched all of your streamed matches. I wish you would of won it, I think you have a good chance next year!

BTW If you inherited your pool game can you put it in your will for me!

Nice post

Priceless!

Trip to US Open $2000
Custom made pool cue: $3500
Diamond Smart table: $5000

Placing 3rd at the Open with a pool game you inherited, and never had to earn: Priceless........

No one on earth could ever place that high at the Open, without putting in their time learning this game. There's always gonna be someone a little jealous of your accomplishments, don't sweat em'.....

Guess not, Donny...........

Tough economy. Not many people buying much of anything, especially cars. Its possible Donny doesn't need any help and might even be struggling to keep the help he does have on the payroll. Besides, he doesn't know you so it isn't personal.

Perfect example of why people should try to meet someone in person and come up with their own decision about someones character instead of going by what they "heard from someone". This is especially true if they're going to go on a forum and disparage someone so vocally as Brandon has. It makes a person (Brandon) look irresponsible and encourages inaccuracies to be spread around needlessly. Its bad form.
