Went over to the darkside, I tried a G-word yesterday

Well after stalling for several years I finally tried the Michael Jackson thing. Yep, bought a glove! Definitely a help in the hot and humid weather we have but a couple of issues. One thing, the largest glove that company made didn't fit well and cut into the area between my fingers where the two open fingers were. The other thing is that we don't need anything extra to make our hands sweat down here. I am usually soaked with sweat after playing a few hours.

Gloves work, I don't like them. Which brings me to the finger slides. Been planning to order some to try but I wanted to be sure the basic idea worked first. I remember some uproar over who actually was the rightful marketer of the finger slide things but I have slept since then. Who should I order them from?

PS: Oh yeah, one slightly used, more than slightly smelly glove for sale CHEAP!

This will suprise no one here in Texas. It's common knowledge here that the men in Oklahoma wear pantyhose:wink::grin::grin::grin:!!!

Hmmmmm, Well, I am gonna take my ball and go home:sorry:

fingerslides got here today!

Thank You, Sean...I think you're my favorite "Spokesperson"!! LOL

Nancy,

Very fast service, the fingerslides arrived today. Think I am going to use the extra large ones, the large seem a little too snug, I've seen my ex get in her girdle faster than I could get them on!

Unfortunately I had to choose between beating the rain to do some outdoor work today or playing pool and ridiculous as it seems the work had to come first. Tried just seeing how the slides felt running the cue through them on the kitchen table and the slides seem to work real well. I scored a good solid hit on the pepper shaker with the salt shaker first try! Who would have thought that both shakers would break that easily?

I will start a thread after I get to play with the slides a little. I am pretty sure I can find a local customer for the large slides so I'll probably just pass them on and order two more pairs of the extra large or maybe some slightly different length custom slides, I have an idea! (usually followed by "here Bubba, hold my beer!" but this idea might be a little better than most.)

Thanks again for a very quick response and excellently made product.

To glove or not to glove

To glove or not to glove

I don't normally use a glove but I do have two for humid times or when the or cue or hand gets less than smooth. I have a red and a black one. To be fair I rarely use then since my shaft is usually really slick and I tend no to play as much when is to humid.

Put them in your bag like I do and feel is ok to use them but don't think about it to much either way.

Mary,

I'm between a mile wide river and a huge lake. High humidity is the only condition I play in. I rarely use powder and when I tried a little the other day it instantly turned into a gummy mess. I know several very good players that use gloves all the time and it was time for desperate measures. I bought one and was instantly able to tighten my bridge up a bunch.

I favor a closed bridge and the glove made so much difference that I will have to relearn many shots. However, I didn't like how the glove felt on my hand or not being able to feel my fingertips against the cloth so I ordered the fingerslides. So far I am very impressed but I'll make a real decision when I get to play a little pool with them on.

I would actually wear a glove without much thought about it but I am glad to find an option that seems to be the best of both worlds.

Back in the 80's there was a road player called the "Glove" in your area. He drove a big older Cadillac and even lived in it at times. One of his hustles was to shoot a ball in and go 3 rails and stop on a dime, closest wins. Glove could hit it perfect.

Glove's Glove was a cheap cloth glove he got in any hardware store.

My solution here in Florida Humidity is a very smooth Cue and just a touch of powder for those really humid days. I also find washing my hands a lot helps with hand oil and I don't have sweaty hands. But I have had my bridge hand get a little sore from playing a lot.

Oh my god so much water, yea I would definitely get used to using a glove in most shots in that much moisture. I think it would definite help once you found the perfect pair for u even if it takes some adjustment to become natural with them on.

I no longer live in humid conditions, thank goodness but I do remember what it was like. I felt much like you do about the glove and really didn't like not being able to feel my fingertips on the cloth. I've noticed John Schmidt shoots with a glove that isn't modified but Mike Davis had a very simple, yet brilliant idea. He cut the finger tips off of the gloves. LOL I'm usually fairly logical in my thinking and I can't believe I didn't think of it myself! :o

If the fingerslides end up not working for you, just cut the tips off of your glove. :thumbup2:
