The WPBA Had A Very Good Year

Thanks to WPBA, PoolDawg, AZBilliads, Anne Craig, and all the great player commentators, and the players that brought us a great three days of exiting play on the stream. It was a great year to follow the WPBA. I am looking forward to next year and seeing if the rising stars like Michell Monk, Liz Ford, and about a dozen others that showed a lot of promise can step it up the final notch. Next year should be a great one. Johnnyt

I am predicting that Angel Paglia will move up the ranks significantly next year.

Also, I'd like to see Michelle Rakin playing on the tour again. I'm sure she could make a big splash if she gets back in.

I also think Cris DeLaGarza has a lot of talent that hasn't been brought out yet.

They need to have more events. Counting the WPBA championship, they only ran like 5-6 tournaments. I'd like to see that number go up to 9-10 tournaments.

How about coming back to NC? There's the American Tobacco Campus you were at in '08. Also you could try Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, and I'm sure there's 1 or 2 places in Charlotte. Another state you could get into would be TX, Houston or DFW maybe. It just seems that the WPBA is missing out on a couple of billiard hotbeds and by tapping into them it could revitalize the Tour.

From what I saw in '08, the Carolina Classic was a nice success. It was a shame you couldn't bring it back this year.

I love the WPBA & enjoy watching it more than the men's game. However some things need to change. The b.s. tournament format of starting with double elimination & switching to single is complete bs. The lack of events also hurts as in my honest opinion it taints the legitimacy of the rankings. Also when will we see events in New York? I would go if anything was being held in & around NYC.

How large of a venue is required to host an event? It seems like there's never anything happening in the midwest. I'd assume there'd be some place in Chicago, St. Louis or somewhere would be able to accomodate an event?

I would love the WPBA to go international, not only hosting events in America.

I'm sure there are a lot of venues that are big enough, but can and will they add the necessary money? I think it's a good sized chunk of change... perhaps Anne can enlighten us on the requirements?

I am usually glued to the stream when possible. I think this is a great addition to the tour and hope it can continue. Thanks PoolDawg!!
