what do you guys think tad??
The small maple dash/stitch ring resembles Tad, Not any Palmers I have seen,
Also,
the cue appears to have a longer than normal butt cap- Siimilar to older tads
finally,
the white delrin at the base of the wrap looks like tad as well"

Palmer did sell cues from other makers. Maybe it was a tad purchased from palmer
It appears to be an old Titlist TAD, late 60's - early 70's, but without better pictures I cannot be certain.
It also looks like 2 different shafts and the more I look at it maybe Adams?

I believe this cue to be a Tad. I was one of the bidders hoping for a find. However I ended up driving the cost up for the buyer. Oh well.
However I did ask the seller a question and he NEVER responded. I believe that the cue may not be straight. Knowing it was a pawn shop, I asked him how he came to the conclusion that it was straight and he never responded. So I think that may be a crap shoot for the buyer.
I was shocked that the mystery know it all didn't take time to alert the seller he had a very different and more valuable cue. Guess he doesn't know what he thinks he knows.

look at the but cap of 4kings cues in the gallery here. it is amazing how many cues come up on ebay as the wrong maker, but its normally in the favor of the seller!LOL
I sent the guy 4 messages and he never responded, i wanted to know how he was shure it was a palmer?and is it guarnteed to be that! then i told him i believed it to be a tad and was willing to offer him 2000.00 for it. but he never responded. but as soon as i won, he sent me a invoice congrats! within 15 min. well if its not a palmer it might be comming back!
Not a Palmer, probably a Tad - but better photos would help. (FYI Lazzerus, Tad had a number of different length buttcaps, some were longer than this but it does look overlength to me). There's a pic below of some old Tad's from the ICCS cue show.
The case is an O'Neil.
I don't know where these people get their bad information, but it sure is costly.
