I think I saw it on Paul Daytons website that you could start in the morning with a 1 inch dowel and have a finished shaft at the end of the day without concern for warping! These shafts will be awesome.
i want to put my name in for one... ive got 2 lakewood shafts from Pat Diveney but i think i want one for my break cue as well that stiff of a shaft would be great for my jump/break

Not true. All wood can warp. That aside, the best hitting shafts I have ever played with are old wood or lake wood.
Sheldon, What do you charge for shafts? I am up in Portland and have played with a few of your cues. Real nice stuff.

I have a large number of PMs, and I will get back to everyone very soon. I want to get them all cut round so I can grade them, and figure out exactly what I am dealing with. I am trading for the stock, and will have to see what I end up with to determine the exact price I will ask. I will be selling finished shafts only, no partials or blanks.

They are READY
The shafts are ready to be cut to final sizes. They're all right around 13.5mm at the tip end, and .880 at the joint end. Most are 31" long, and the rest are just a little over 30. They are all very straight, and none of them moved between cuts. They are very stable. Ring count is very high, at .880 they're showing at least 20.
$300 each, regular rings, trim and ferrule included, any billet work for trim special/ivory ferrules will be extra.
Click on the pics here for large images. My saw blade was getting a little dull on the last cut, and marked up the small ends of the shafts a bit, they will clean up on the final cut(s).
I have the shafts numbered from left to right, you can pick one out, or leave it up to me to give you the best one available. I'm sending out PMs to everyone that originally replied. We'll switch to email (my pm inbox will be packed) and I'll be letting people know which shafts are taken as they get picked out. I'll email a list of who pm'd in the order I received them. First come first choice. I've got more pms than shafts, so unless I have some people changing their minds, they are all spoken for, and a few may have been too late.
For the best fit possible, I need the butt of the cue you want it on. If you're sure your joint pin is centered, you can send an existing shaft that fits the butt you want matched, or send me exact specifications. (diameter, height of trim, type of thread, etc.) A good clear picture of your joint + specs would be great, too. If you only send specs, a $50 deposit will secure your shaft, if you send a shaft or butt, no deposit will be necessary. I'll notify you when the shaft will be ready to ship, and when payment is received, it will go out.

I'm doing a trade for the wood, and the person I got it from wanted me to ask $500! This stuff could very well be a THOUSAND YEARS OLD, and is getting to be very rare. I could hang onto them and milk every last dollar, but I have always been very reasonable, and never gouge anyone. It's only money, right? :grin:
