This is the main aiming technique of the video, and it's not usable - because Gene never describes how to determine how much overlap there should be for the vast majority of shots. I guess he thinks we should just know that (actually, many of us do know that from the "double overlap" method, but Gene apparently doesn't - at least he never mentions it).
He suggests a way (a cumbersome and imprecise way that isn't workable in real play) to determine if the overlap should be roughly 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 of the object ball, but only those three - as if that should be enough (shades of Hal Houle!), and as if a rough estimate is workable for aiming, which he himself emphasizes is all about precision.
I don't believe Gene really understands his own technique; I think he just believes that because he plays so well he must know "the secret". As somebody else said, he thinks he knows what he doesn't know.
I'm truly sorry to have to be so blunt about Gene's video - like I said in my review, he seems like a likable and sincere guy who really wants to help others. I wouldn't speak up except that he promotes his video sales so relentlessly here on AZB that I feel AZB readers are being done an injustice if they don't know the "other side" of the story.

P.S. Since Spidey seems to be on vacation, we can only guess what his insightful and informative rebuttal of my comments would be. Maybe somebody else knows enough entertaining expletives to fill in for him.
