My brother purchased a vx2.9 jump break about a month ago. Last night he broke it down to shoot a jump shot, and when he went to screw it back together, it wouldnt tighten down.

is this a typical problem with this cue?

also, he is not sure where his reciept is, will poison still take care of the issue?

I haven't owned one, but demo'd this cue and have a couple friends with this cue. They all like it pretty well, and so did I. I haven't heard of this problem before.

Dont know about the receipt thing.

my brother and i both liked the stick a lot. matter of fact, since he got his, i've wanted one. but if the joint failing is typical, or if they wont fix it, i would just stay clear of them.

You need to contact Poison. Tell them the problem and they will help you. They are good about warranty issues. I would advise you not to call their product junk when you talk to them.

I've had one for a year and the guy I play the most got one too 'cause he liked mine. I've seen a bunch of them in play and have never heard a bad word about them.

I'd have to think Poison will take care of this exception.

This is just one of the many reasons I have a "Mace" by Rick Howard for my jump/break cue. At $325 they are a good Christmas Stocking Stuffer :)

Yes...ALL of Predator products are MADE IN CHINA (including the Poison line), BUT they are made to MUCH BETTER SPECS. and good quality control. Predator came up with (and patented) the Uni-loc joint and the Radial (and mini-radial) joints. These joints DO give a much better fit (tighter tolerances), however, because they are tight fitting, the joints have to be maintained, ie., periodically cleaned with a cotton swab and achohol. If not, they can stick and when trying to loosen them, break and loosen the insert seat on the shaft. F.Y.I.

PS: IMHO the Poison VX2.9 Jump/break cue IS the best performance and best value in today's market.

I've owned one for a while now and the only problem I had was the tip fell off two or three times. My rep sent it back to Poison and they relaced the shaft.

I have noticed lately that when I break it down to jump it doesn't seem to want to go back together as easily as it once did. You may have developed your problem by tighting the cue more than required. I think poison will take care of the problem.
