Is this case of good quality?

If you are looking for a case that can take a beating, protect your cues, and not break the bank...I might suggest you check these out:

http://www.cuesight.com/pool-cue-cases-wave-cases.html

I have this case in the 2x5/3x4 option. Basically, it's a 2x4 case, but has had the extra space ingeniously used to be able to carry an additional butt and shaft, should the need arise. These cases feature the Ultra Pad interior...as well as the Organic Rebound System. Basically, your cues are nice and comfy inside, but when you're ready to play, open the lid and the butts and shafts 'pop' up a little, in order for ease of removal. Pockets are generous enough to hold most all you would need for tournament play. At $135.00, it's a best bang for your buck case.

I have had just about every kinda case out there...and have sold off most and kept the ones I felt truly fit my needs. When I need to carry more than one cue, the Sterling Wave case is the one I use.

If you do a search for Sterling Wave case both in the Main and Cue Reviews sections of the Forum, you will find several posts with feedback on these cases. And, should something actually go wrong with the case, Sterling backs up their product nicely.

Lisa ====>picky about her cue cases.

Yeah because I am traveling around different countries playing pool. And due to the fact its not allowed to bring your cue/cue bags as a hand luggage up to the aeroplane, you'd need to put it as a cargo, and eventhough you put it as "fragile" luggage, they'd still throw around the thing, cause I've got a cue on a USD$35.00 case, my shaft starts to crack and shit. So yeah I'd surely want to know the quality of the case.

And as for vacuum sealed case, I've never seen any one of these cases, only zipper ones, is it tight? cause maybe the cue might fall out during the flight or something. =P

But yeah the one I'm eagerly planning to get is this one here:-

But I am shortage of money, still saving up. Cause I feel its unique. =P But yeah feel free to give your personal opinions and suggestions.
Well it seems to me if you can afford to travel all over to different countries, then you should have no problem buying a real Whitten. If your cues are that important to you. Just saying.

lol, I don't pay for the registration fees and the ticket fees, they're all paid by other people. And yes I would buy a real whitten if I'd have the money, I'm prolly gonna save up for a real one, but yeah does whitten ships globally?

Whitten ships globally. Do yourself a favor and get the real Whitten in EXACTLY the colors you want.

You won't regret it.

I was not kidding when I said that you are GAMBLING when you buy a knockoff.

The reason is that you can't possibly know if the case you receive will be even half as good as the one someone else got. Knockoff factories will put any brand name on a case, the people who sell knockoffs will have their copies made in any factory that offers them a cheap enough price. They jump from factory to factory so the consumer is never assured of getting a properly made case.

Thus when someone on here says that they have the exact same case and it's great, well........maybe they do and maybe it is, but more than likely they don't and there is a good chance that the next one is a dud.

I think that now Whitten is the most copied case in Asia. So there will be no end to these knockoffs and I feel really sad for Dan and Joe Whitten. I mean Whittens have always been knocked off for the past 20 years but it was the basic style, not 1:1 knockoffs like these.

Anyway, the point is that the real thing is worth it. Especially when it's something you want to trust to protect your good cues.

Also, if you travel a lot then you probably want a case with a padded interior like I build. Whitten cases allow the cues to rattle around and I wouldn't want my cues subjected to the rough handling of baggage handlers.

Look for something like this if you want your cues to be held securely while not in yoru hands.

I haven't travelled by air with my cues, but if I did, I'd look into a hardside gun case. They are fairly inexpensive, and I'd rather have my treasured cue case packed inside something with a rigid shell.

Bill
P.S. I have a Sterling Wave case also. It's not the most expensive case I've ever had, but it's definitely my favorite carry case.

John also designed the Sterling Wave cases that has been mentioned before. The topmost picture of an interior featured in his post is exactly like I have in my Wave case...2x5/3x4.

The cases available from John's website are typically customs and made of leather. John is smart enough to know that not every can or wants to afford a higher end custom leather case, so he also offers his interiors in some of the models available from Sterling. The interiors are of the same quality, just the outer 'wrapping' of the cases is different....John actually designed the Wave case (inside and out) for Sterling.

Zoinks! Funny how that worked out!

whittens allow your cues to rattle? How is the material they use on the tubes for the finish of your cue? I really like the look of the whittens over any of the southwestern look cases and would get one if I only had $600 to spend on an everyday case

Yeah, I noticed that too.....in post #25 John is praising Whitten and then in post #26 he says the cues rattle around in a Whitten and he would suggest his own case.

Is this bait and switch or what?

Way to go John, thats the way to do it. I'm sure Dan and Joe will get a kick out of this one.

Of course I praise Whitten. Just like with your case I don't agree with how the interior is done, although theirs is much much much better than yours in my opinion.

My advice to the person asking the question was to buy a real Whitten INSTEAD of a knockoff if the Whitten look is what he wants.

The same person also stated later that he travels a lot and that he wanted something that would protect his cue BECAUSE he has a shaft that he thinks developed a crack from the rough handling by the baggage handlers.

Since Whitten cases do not offer the same level of protection, i.e. the padding that mine do, I suggested that IF he wanted the type of padded protection that I offer then he should consider our cases.

I know that you are really keen to trap me Mr. Justis but you are never going to be able to.

The fact is sir that I have dissected your cases, Whitten cases, and Whitten knockoffs. So I am eminently qualified to make the factual statements on the quality and protection that each offers in comparison to each other.

The fact is that Whitten builds a super solid case and although the tube versions of their cases are not padded like mine they are light years better than yours and certainly a better bet than buying a knockoff of their designs.

Mind if I quote you on this somtime???

Not at all. If you find any knockoffs of your cases then feel free to quote me. The reason I know this Mr. Justis is that I have spent nearly 20 years studying how cue cases are built.

For a year after I sold Instroke I did cue case repair and as such I got to see how many of the knockoffs are built. I know that most of them are crap.

So if you find any knockoffs of your cases you can use my experience to let people know what I have stated.

Of course if you feel that you can somehow now link this statement to the J.Flowers Tribute series by claiming that they are knockoffs of your cases I would suggest that you don't reopen that can of worms sir because you may end up with more than you can handle.

I have told you that our beef is behind me and I mean it. However sir I will not hesitate to defend my product with better and more detailed video footage comparing the J.Flowers line and your cases should you continue down this path.

I hope that you can understand that you stand to lose a lot by continuing this Mr. Justis. You build a very nice case as I said. I have learned a lot by examining mine thoroughly. I did not say that all I learned was positive and I really don't think that you would like to have every detail scrutinized on camera and archived on the internet for anyone searching for more information on your cases to view at their leisure.

Good day sir.

I had a friend that shipped his cue in a rifle case and labeled it as such. Since only a handful of people are allowed to handle firearms, it got treated pretty good and it was a heavy duty case. Just have to go to a different location to get your luggage. And usually you get a free escort out of the airport.

The material they use is fantastic for the cue. It is very similar to what we use and is the same as what you would like to use to polish your cues.

The tubes are not padded. So the cues do rattle in a Whitten tube case. I have made my views on padded vs. non-padded interiors very clear too many times to count.

I can't recommend Whitten highly enough.

I would call Joe Whitten and see what they have available. I think that you can get a 2x4 for less than $500.

In referance to the top interior is the area between the middle (butt hole) that looks like a vagina and the bottom (shaft hole) that looks like a butt hole called "taint"?

Well those are pictures of interiors that we make for our cases as well as for the majority of tube cases that Sterling Gaming carries.

You stated that you want something that is very protective. And you want the modern sleek look.

I have the best protection in a tube case currently. I can't help you with the look because only you know what turns you on.

You really can't go wrong with a Whitten. Please consider their case. Talk to Dan and Joe and I think that they would probably be willing to fix you up on whatever you need to satisfy your requirements on protection.

Although they prefer to stay within their signature style they are willing to do a lot of customizing that some other famous case makers refuse to do or just can't do.
