You should get a ... ?

New:

Gina

Tad

or for a 3rd choice. Your friend might take 25 crisp 100 dollar bills, neatly stack them on a fancy throw pillow and knock on Searing's door. When Dennis answers, your friend should drop to his knees, raise the pillow over his head and BEG Mr Searing to build a pain jane within a year. Dennis will say no. Try again next day. Dennis will say no. Try again next. Probably won't work, but maybe the best third alternative beside trying the same thing with Hercek or Barry or Laurie.

One can get a new Gina or Tad for under 2K, brand new, built to specs, guaranteed to hit great and pretty much guaranteed to always be worth at least what you paid. This is a rare value for a cue that you don't have to wait 5 years or more to get. For my money, considering the short wait time, quality control, resale value, the smart way to go within these parameters is Tad or Gina (unless Searing would give in in under 20 days of trying).

some nice Benders out there for under 2500 and the won't lose their value

Are you talking available new to order with less than a one year wait?

If you are talking used, I'd also be suggesting a Tasc or maybe an older Black Boar. I wonder if there is a Hercek for under 2.5K.

i was referring to brand NEW and DIRECTLY from the cue-maker inside 12 months ....

By the time this thread is done...I would predict about 50 makers to choose from.

If he does not want a bunch of fancy inlays....Pocket $1500 and just get a BCM cue from Bryon.

New Cues

James White
Cory Barnhart
Chris Byrne

I like a lot more, in fact most of them but the over & under on many of these cuemakers for a 12-month completion is an interesting bet.

some good names being mentioned that many may not have considered when looking for a new cue...

let's get out there and support our cue-makers :)

why not let him hit your cues till he finds one with the hit he likes and then have one built.

the best way to really get a good playing cue is to find an old blank or butt and have a wrap and joint put on it with a shaft to your specs.

cues to buy

What I would do is break into the southwest shop,(since it take much longer than 12 months to get 1) take a cue and leave 2500 on lauries desk! Southwests are the absolute best playing cue in my opinion!!
