I recently bought a Bob Renis cue (you know, "BobCues", the dymondwood cues with turned handles) and Dave at Quality Billiards informed me Mr. Bob Renis has passed away.

Thats to bad. R.I.P Mr. Renis... I remember visiting him at his home many years ago in California I had him make a shaft for a playing cue I had at the time. Many Many wonderful stories he told about some of the Legends of the game and his friendships with them.

RIP Mr. Renis

Yes, unfortunately Bob Renis Passed away a month or 2 ago.
Bob was close to 90 when he passed. From what I heard he slipped and broke his neck while visiting in Detroit. He died while in the hospital.
What a shame. Bob was a remarkable & jovial story teller. RIP Mr. Renis.

Thanks for the pics and Bob's web page link. I had a chance to play with one of Bobs cues about 15 years ago. It played very well, I had just bought a vintage Viking or I would have one of Bob's cues in my collection now.
R.I.P Bob. condolences to his family.

Bob Renis

I own one of his cues I made on a trade a couple of years ago, everyone told me I was crazy on the trade but I just love the way that cue hits. Wish I had a snooker table to play on. I am sorry to hear he passed on.

Bob was friends with Harold Worst, who may have got him started in the cue making biz. Harold gave some dymondwood to Bob who made a few cues with that wood. I have one of those original cues. Bob gave it to me many years ago. He was a terrific guy. RIP Bob!
