How Much to Stretch Granito M?

Keep in mind we were doing the gluedown method

You guys are Gluing down Billiards Cloth:confused: that would never be acceptable for the USBA National Championships. The best Billiards Table Mechanic in the Country is a South Korean his name is Insue Park and he lives in California, he is the go to guy for 3-Cushion Tables. I have helped him cover tables for the Nationals and a World 3-Cushion event Glue is out of the question for Professional play, staples are the only way to get the cloth tight enough for 3-cushion.

Craig,
You won't believe it till you see it in person. I sure diddn't. But after I was in Chicago and did a GC III with the glue technique. I have no doubts you can stretch cloth as tight if not tighter with glue.

thats what im talking about

well well, if 30 are trained here and they train 30 it won't be long before noone is busy. There already seems to be alot of diy guys visiting the forum. In a country with 10+% unemployment it doesn't seem smart to train guys in a profession like ours. I like hacks for various reasons. Just imagine a new guy in your area who was helped by the forum and then he starts taking food off your table. Be careful what you wish for. Its almost like saying you wish all rubber was good. Just think how much work you would loose. Guys, use your heads. Give people a DVD for all this and you wil be looking for work shortly thereafter. Let the guys on youtube continue to show their hackwork. Its good for us.

Perhaps I will continue in my other thread

Save your breath Pat. We've already been down the glue vs. staple road.
One of the problems with this or any forum, besides people that don't have a clue of what they're talking about but make
comments anyway, are those that think they know it all.

I mean no disrespect, but using glue on a 3-cushion table glue is a no no, I have used it myself on pool table and I agree it is fine for that purpose. But, the cloth on a 3-Cushion table is stretched tighter than any table you have seen, in fact many people use a puller with a ratchet device to stretch it. Mr. Park, however, doesn't need one he has a technique where he can pull the cloth so tight that you can play music on it.

Again I mean no disrespect, but please listen to what I am telling you because if you don't a true 3-cushion player will be disappointed with the results.

Like I said in my first post also keep in mind Granito-M is not the cloth of choice for USBA Championships, I have seen it tear when it was being stretched. Simiois 300 is the preferred cloth for the USBA for both wear and playability, there is nothing better.

Ignorance is certainly blissful, there is no need to be disrespectful, I am giving you the best information out there. Have you ever covered tables for a professional 3-Cushion event ( National or a World event ) ?

I know Glen, we are both from Washington state, and my comments are not meant to criticize him in anyway, however, Glen has never covered the 3-Cushion Tables at the Tacoma Elks lodge where these Championships are held. In addition they never allow anyone to use Glue to cover them, ask Bob Jewett he knows as much about 3-cushion as anyone on the planet and he is a member of this forum, and he is a sitting member of the USBA board.

Have a nice day!!!:)

I am making my popcorn right now!LOl

Someone has not kept up on the lastest techniques!

Ok maybe your right, when was the last time you covered 3-Cushion Tables for a National or World Event?

I have some popcorn too!!!!!:)

IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE where the tables are used. I treat every one the same way. Do you do a half ass job on a cue if the guy cant play???

Please explain the gluing method so we KNOW you are comparing the same thing. Be specific.

Thanks sweetheart!!

No disrespect taken.. I am sure your idea of glueing cloth is different than mine. For one I use a pair of cloth pullers to get a good grip on the cloth and stretch the heck out of it. Also the 3m 10 glue holds like no other. Remember they used to think the world was flat.

As I suspected you have never covered tables for a professional 3-Cushion event and it's obvious you never will!!!!! Never forget, the customer is always right and they won't allow your method's to be used, so right or wrong it just doesn't even matter.

You are also have a nice day!!!

If you read thru the thread you might have noticed we've been talking about pocket tables, not carom tables even tho this started as a 3c thread.
But for everyones education please provide a reference or link that stipulates how cloth should be installed on slate for 3c tournament use.
