BilliardCommunity.com

...agree with you Lenny. I could have easily "repurposed" content on poolvids.com and positioned it as my own but it's not the right thing to do, so I just link out unless and until I can truly host my own content (either provided by me or submitted by others - but not poached).

Now, I saw that FastLenny had started a thread about billiardscommunity.com, which was enough for me (wrongly assumed endorsement and didn't hover), so I figured I'd go check out their site. BillardCommunity.com Stinks may have been a better thread title!

-- EDIT: noticed that ontherailtv.com was not on my list of links! fixed! :)

These jerks steal the streams from AZB as well. Is this Mike Dechaine the same one who is the pool player? I hope not. I would hope players would have some class. These guys have none.

Yes, he is, but I'm not sure if he knows about the stolen streams. Michael Bradford is the "Chief Operating Officer" (as stated on his business card).

If anyone wants his phone number to address him about it, it's 561.441.5252.

I wonder where they got your email from, OTR has 2500 people on the list that have signed up for our newsletter and would never give them up for any dollar amount, we only send out newsletters for streams and to mention sponsor deals for people on the newsletter.
I think they get contacts from existing members....SOP

got this from thier site

Recently, there have been some "rumors" that BilliardCommunity.com is claiming to stream events without crediting the streaming hosts, providers, partners and/or sponsor(s) and thus claiming "credit for the stream". We are setting the record straight in saying that this theory is completely false.

BilliardCommunity.com has always fully credited the sponsors, partners, providers & hosts in every single stream it has partaken in and will continue to do so as we "stream events" or "help to distribute streaming for events". We are happy to provide this service 100% free of charge to our Billiard Community.

There seems to be a misunderstanding in streaming terminology and this is where this issue has originated from. The following are industry definitions and an example for each.

Streaming Media Multimedia which are constantly received by, and normally presented to, an end-user while being delivered by a "media streamer".
Streaming Media Example: The Northeast Joss Tour Stream

Streaming ProviderA person, firm, organization, company or website which provides all equipment and services thus providing the streaming media to the end-users.
Streaming Provider Example: Ustream.tv

Streaming Host The hosting server which provides the website, bandwidth and all online services enabling the streaming provider.
Streaming Host Example: CrystalLogicMedia.com

Streaming Sponsor A person, firm, organization, company or website which finances and buys the time to stream an event online so as to advertise a product and/or service.
Streaming Sponsor Example: Simonis Billiard Cloth

Streaming Partner A person, firm, organization, company or website which participates as a partner to the streaming provider and/or streaming sponsor for the purpose of funding/financing or advertising.
Streaming Partner Example: Amsterdam Billiards

Media Streamer A website which helps the streaming provider, streaming sponsor(s) and streaming partner(s) in the distribution of the streaming media. NOTE: A media streamer’s responsibility is to provide the stream via their website. In other words, any website which provides the media stream is considered a "streamer" because they are simply providing the stream to end-users. Whether or not the streamer is also a provider, host, sponsor or partner is irrelevant in terms of the Media Streamer. Media Streamer Example: BilliardCommunity.com

Let’s also keep the nature of streaming in perspective and remember what the purpose of streaming really is. Syndication & distribution are the basis for streaming and these are the reasons why media streaming has evolved as a powerful media for streaming providers, hosts, sponsors and partners.

BilliardCommunity.com was built for all pool/billiard enthusiasts around the world who share the passion of the game. It’s with this same passion that BilliardCommunity.com has evolved to be the best billiard social networking website.

We honestly thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,
The BilliardCommunity.com Team

Marissa,

It has come to my attention that you have posted some inaccurate information with regard to BilliardCommunity.com online. Just so you are clear, Mike Dechaine is not an owner of BilliardCommunity.com. Please take down any and all posts you put up that says he is.

Thank you in advance,

Michael Bradford

BilliardCommunity.com
I posted mistakenly because I have two business cards for Billiard Community: one for Michael Bradford and one for Mike Dechaine.

Correct me if I am wrong but you cant call someone a partner if you dont have their permission to use their material. Aside from Lenny. I have as well seen another VERY well known streamer (who's name I will not say its their place to speak up if they wish to) let you know on facebook that you do not have permission or rights to air their material.

Heck, I didnt know they even existed.....I will go to you for your streams, and TAR for its stream...I dont like to go through 3rd party websites for my streams....unless its Naked Lesbians Wrestling in Strawberry Syrup.....

Could you send me the URL for this stream????
Like the others.....I go to TAR so BC.com ain't gettin any hits off of me

A bunch of stuff that is worded in a way that makes you think all is well.........

But is it really? If the people who are creating and providing these streams are upset about what you are doing, then you sure as hell are not supporting the billiard community. Until you find a way to make things right with these guys, I encourage them to continually slam you, resulting in as many lost members as possible. I ask this because I support the unsupporting of you and support supporters of the supportive billiard community such as Lenny, BigTruck, etc....... or something...... If this is not clear enough, please let me know. Thanks.

Probably a result of substance abuse and reckless living on my part.....but NO this ain't clear at all. Maybe I have it all wrong, but it looks to me as though smoothstroke simply posted what BC.com has on their site. If smoothstroke is one of the honchos at BC......I failed to see that mentioned. If, on the other hand, he was simply providing info to the thread readers.....then your unsupporting supported supporters comment is all mush to me.......Hell....it's all mush to me anyway, maybe heavy drinking is in order.
