Hi,

Just wanted to sound off and put my two cents in concerning people promoting their cue products on this forum. One of the reasons I read this forum is to see the products that are being offered to us cue makers by some who post here.

We are in a nitch market and I think it is great that Chris, Lee and others have this place to pitch their wares. I have bought ring cutters, and other items from guys who have also advertised here.

I think that anyone should be able to offer anything on these posts that is related to cue making. Everyone who reads these posts have the opportunity to open and look if they want, or they can ignore them if they choose.

I don't want to go to another area of AZ to see what Chris, Lee, or anyone else is offering on the market. I think it should be done here where it belongs. There are too many who wish to try to complain about things that are none of there business like who offered the brown rubber bumpers first.

Let AZ Billiards "Cue Machinery" be an open market form not a restricted or regulated entity that stinks of socialism because a few people have a bug in their backside for no good reason.

Yes and NO

I believe that there are many valid points here. However, it has been suggested on several occations that a seperate catagory for Cue making equipment and or tools to be sold or wanted for purchase. This would keep these items in an easy location to get information on but seperate from actual topics of use or display of such items not for sale.

Jim.

Socialism????????????????????????????????????????

Did I miss a memo?

IIUC - the only thing that was promoted as needing regulating was bashing other posters - esp cuemakers and revealing sources, and it was for the ATCM forum

As I recall

Dale<who wants to track down all them dirty Scoialist rats>

I think you can post machinery related to cuemaking here....or at least thats my understanding.......where else would it be? I mean, it doesnt really belong in thr for sale section....most people are looking for cues....not machinery to build cues.

As long as people are not bashing on here I dont see a problem with it....but then again...im not an AZ MOD...so maybe I dont see the whole picture.

I do think that if someone is trying to sell pool building machinery here, and someone starts bashing them for doing so...I dont think there should be so many warnings...1 warning, and your on 30 days vacation......reason being is this is such a relatively small community that everyone knows the rules here......or al least they should....if they dont, then maybe they should get a small vacation for being so brain dead..

This section should be for cuemakers, and aspiring cuemakers to have a place to discuss machinery and show off what they have...and not feel any reporcussions for doing so..

The rule change had nothing to do with posting machines and tools in the "machinery" section. It was for posting cue parts in the "ask a cuemaker" section. Also, it forbids posting a price for services, which make little to no sense to me, and posting sources, unless you do both via PM.

Ryan, I believe that this thread was in response to Mr. Wilson's second post in this thread:

I could be wrong and almost always am. Jim.

IMO just leave things as they are. In a nutshell, we are all adults here and should know how to be respectful of others and post in a professional and courteous manner. Bashing is most often a result of some type of jealousy. Just my $.02 and I don't mean to offend anyone here in anyway.

Here is the header for the "Machinery" section;

All about cue machinery. Buy, sell and trade machinery as well as how to make those machines do all that work.

The OP was concerned over Lee and Chris selling their machines and tools. The new rules do not affect what they are doing. Now, if Lee comes up with some new pins or inserts, he has to go to "wanted/for sale," for example.

I thought we were selling ALL cue building related parts-pieces-scraps-machines-machine parts-woods-non-wood materials-glues-non-glue-leather-non-leather-finishing-non-finishing-polishing-non-polishing types of products that may have an interest to any cue builders-non cue builders viewing this section?

Nope. Sorry. You are able to sell the machines and tool used in cue making but no actual cue parts. If it goes in, on, or around a cue, it must be sold in the 'wanted/for sale." That is also the place for pricing services, even though it gets asked in the....

wait for it.......

ASK A CUEMAKER section.

You may be able to sell parts if you phrase it in the form of a question just like on Jeopardy, ei; 'Does anyone want brass joining pins?' Just whatever you do....don't post that evil price. It scares the children.:deadhorse:
