Helmstetter Buyers Beware!

Saw this ad on ebay and informed the seller this model wasn't offered with ivory. Got a slightly nasty reply stating he had installed the ivory joint. Possible, but the inlays too? What do you think. Anyone know this seller?

I don't think these cues had any ivory in them...maybe bone, but not ivory. Jayman should post up pretty soon. He will know the answer for sure.

It is ironic that Ebay will probably pull this ad due to his use of the Ivory word.

No I don't no the seller but I just sold this cue on eBay my cue was unplayed. The cue he is selling has a replaced joint and maybe ivory and a leather wrap has been added. There was no ivory in these cues when they were new. good luck with his sale

The cue is a Fake in my Opinion, I was a dealer for Helmstetter/ Adam cues during the time frame this cue was suppose to be made. First it is suppose to be a VIP Model Cue, however, all that I have ever seen had a V-Spliced forearm not rounded points like the one pictured. In addition it doesn't say Helmstetter VIP on the forearm and Helmstetter cues never used a Push in Bumper, so I suspect that the cue is a Copy.

Thanks for the Kind Words!! Another thing that makes me think it is fake and that the seller is a phony, is he just changed the listing to an unknown Brunswick Hubb type cue without photo's of course!!!!;)

Update, the photo's are up of the so called Unknown cue!!!! The cue is a Rich Cue that has had the bottom cut, a wood dowel installed and threaded so that the bottom of the cue can be removed. While it is interesting, it certainly isn't a Brunswick or Hubb cue, I don't know what else to say.

I looked at the ebay as posted and I see no reference to ivory at all. What is the question here?

How?

How did that happen. Link came up originally to the Helmstetter, which was apparently removed and now a Brunswick? comes up in it's place? Something not right about this seller.

Lol! He's using "search words," so if someone reads too fast and bids some astronomical bid to break the reserve, then all is good.

He uses the words "Herman Rambow" and "Brunswick hub-type cue" in his description. So even he doesn't know (but we think he does).

It may be that Ebay ended his first listing due to him having the word "Ivory" in it. I believe that they will allow you to change your wording, even in the title, under that circumstance.

If that is not it, I would also like to understand how the title, pictures and description can be totally changed from one cue (the Helmstetter w/ivory joint) to a "possible" Rambow/Brunswick Hub cue.

Sumpin don't smell right!

If any listing on Ebay hasn't received a bid. You can change anything. Discription, photo's, price, etc.
