Hey everyone I just watched the venom trickshots dvd in its entirety.

The dvd costs 29.99 on the runout media site. www.runoutmedia.com.

My first opinion on watching this dvd was that it was extremely well shot and the picture quality alone shows this.

Florian's shot making is unparalleled by anything I have seen in my short years of watching pool, billiards, trickshots, and cue sports as a whole.

Also the woman in the video is strikingly beautiful to look at and seems like she had a great personality during the filming of this video.

The burn marks were incredible on the table to see the amount of friction generated.

*** Guys this is for the most part a positive review. I would not think twice about recommending this disk to friends and family as well as the Mika series which I have also just completed. The video quality is incredible and the shot making is staggeringly amazing. Please do not mistake my own hang ups on the dvd for ill will as it most definitely is not. I guess I just have different tastes then most people. ***

Now comes the bad part.

While funny the out takes section in my opinion was a little too long. I understand that sometimes out takes can be funny but in my honest opinion it felt like a frat house at that point especially the nut shot where Florian jumps off the table and tries to hit the guy in the crotch.

Also during this section I really dont need to see the film crew and support crew attempting some of the shots.

The thing I think that annoys me the most and this is just my personal opinion is that when there are certain things asked about the industry or Florian etc, Nathan is the first person we see.

I know he is the director of this film but in all honesty I felt his appearance time was a little much. I dont think people paid to see him or his opinion but rather see Florian and his incredible shot making.

That being said I agree with what Nathan had to say in regards to the industry I just dont think this was the place to say it.

Guys I fully understand people are going to disagree with me and as I said this is just my personal opinion after viewing this dvd. I just felt the commentary was a bit heavy by Nathan and in truth I would have rather listened to Florian more as he is the one shooting.

All in all the dvd is well done and I have nothing personal against Nathan as I have spoken to him on here and he has been nothing but personable and a great guy to talk to.

I highly reccommend it if you want to see something extraordinary.

I was watching it last night with my son, he really enjoyed it and at first did not want to watch it because it was pool and he is not into watching pool but I assured him it would be very cool. He sat there hooked and watched the whole thing.

I personally liked seeing behind the scenes stuff and if I did not like something I could just move forward to the next chapter. I am unsure if the DVD could be better, the Mika series is the best instructional set I have ever seen and the quality is unmatched in the industry just Venom's Trickshots.

I am excited to see what is next from Nathan and I think we will continue to see more of his work because he is a younger guy just like myself trying to bring something that is a breath of fresh air to the game and he has succeeded.

I have to agree with you completely !!!

All good point ForumGhost516. I actually agree with you about my part in the DVD being a bit much.

In my defense, I recorded over an hours worth of Florian's interview part, however his poor English made much of it incomprehensible. Even subtitles couldn't make sense of much of it. What he was *trying* to say was great though, so I hopped on the camera after he flew home and reiterated much of it myself. In other words, half of what I say is just rewording of what Florian said in his part.

The info about Florian isn't for everyone, but many people want to know a bit of background on the guy. If you don't care for sections, you can hit the next-chapter button and skip to the following action montage. Same with the outtakes. These really give you a feel for how passionate and positive Florian is. His strong character and sense of humor really comes out in these sections, which I feel will be to most people's liking. Can't please everyone I guess.

Anyway, thanks for the honest review. :)

PS. It amazes me how opinions differ. In the other Venom Trickshots review thread, the consensus was that the outtakes were the best part, whereas your review emphasizes that you feel it's the weakest part. Very odd.

I liked the outtakes almost more than the actual shots. It makes you really appreciate the difficulty of what he does.
